Probably vote masking (or whatever they call it). It's a strategy Reddit employs to prevent spambots from realising when they're shadowbanned. If they're being upvoted and downvoted they think their comments are being seen by other users so they continue to operate for a while. More than likely the negatives you saw were just masking votes. They go away once a comment is sufficiently old or has been voted on enough, I believe.

Except research has shown that soda, even diet zero-calorie sodas, make losing weight and keeping it off less likely. And anyway, artifical sweeteners might have zero calories themselves but they alter the way your body handles sugar and other caloric intake.

I had to unsubscribe because it terrifies me that some people actually think that way. But occasionally, like just now, I have to revisit the sub to confirm that I made the right choice.

Any examination of the women who are in U.S. prisons reveals that the majority are nonviolent offenders with poor education, little employment experience and multiple histories of abuse from childhood through adulthood. Wait, isn't this true for men as well? Most offenders are not violent and uneducated people are imprisoned at far higher rates.

Should you, as a friend, believe a person when they tell you they were raped? Yes. Be supportive and caring and believe that what they told you was the truth. But somehow these people believe that requiring proof to ruin someone's life in court is victim blaming. It absolutely is not.

No because I'm lazy, but even a cursory Google search should get you moving in the right direction. There's no way 99.8% of rape is perpetrated by men. At a certain point it's just common sense.

Those that are the result of peer reviewed studies and not arbitrary numbers that don't come from anywhere.

Certainly wouldn't hurt to have peer-reviewed study results at the ready either.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
