It’s been about a month since I found out my wife is a cheater and the shock still feels fresh at timesIt will never be the same after betrayal. Get an attorney file for divorce stop talking to her and be glad you’re going to be free of this and don’t have kids to deal with | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/26 02:52 PM
How deal with these 2 certain things afterwards?Date/sleep with other women and ignore your ex at all costs. Women are petty and she’s just trying to get to you. Simply ignore and enjoy the fact you kept your house | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/26 02:48 PM
Not sure what to doAre you court ordered to pay for that stuff? If not….stop. You need to grey rock her aka don’t give her the time of day or any mental space in your head unless it’s necessary pertaining to your daughter. I know this sucks but it will get better. You got this bro | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/26 05:03 AM
Nobody to talk with about this..100% agree. The pain is the same in the beginning but man no kids no home equity… like ripping a band aid off you’ll look back and want to thank her for doing you a favor in the long run | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/05/26 04:38 AM
Those who were laid off in the middle of your divorce, how did it go for you?I second this. I was married a little over 100 days and had to pay 20k lump sum no alimony and with no kids | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/05/26 10:49 PM
An UpdateTake the 15k with no discussion in text to be traceable and then tell everyone everything. Who cares. Only do this only after getting an attorney to see your best options. If you have proof of infidelity may or may not help you with court ruling on a divorce. Dont talk to your wife about any of this anymore without an attorney advising you | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/05/26 04:57 PM
Keeping in touch with exwifeBro if she initiated the divorce it’s gonna take a while for you to recover from that. My advice is don’t talk to her ever again once it’s final and only talk now on a need to basis or simply via your attorneys. I suppose you’re saying it’s an opportunity cost of lost client income from her if you go no contact, but it’s small potatoes for your happiness and mental well being. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/05/26 07:26 AM
How’d you get through the first week?Get rid of anything you have of hers pictures, gifts, texts, emails, etc. Get rid of all of it as painful as it is it’s like ripping off a band aid and you’ll heal faster albeit not instantaneously. Be kind to yourself and treat yourself. Exercise eat healthy when you can. It’s ok to feel sad….divorce one of the most painful things to go through, but you will be a better man for it. Date casually if not for anything else just a distraction. Some days are better than others but eventually you’ll … | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/05/26 06:23 AM
I wasn't expecting how few people cared about me.These times are difficult but character building. I went through a divorce at the same age as you a few years ago. It really sucks but you will rediscover who you are all your hobbies without your ex wife and maybe make some new friends doing it. Dating new women is fun once you’re ready for that. I will say you are young and lucky for a clean break with your ex with no kids. Hard to see the positives now but in time you will. Now you can spend money on just you so buy a car if you want to. Do a… | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/05/26 06:12 AM
Trauma of failed marriage (20 years)Best comment I have ever seen. 100% on all of it especially the single mom AND abusive ex type. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/03/26 01:21 PM
Maybe Divorce Made Me a ChauvinistAmen to this entire conversation. 2x divorced myself. I hate to think they are all lying wh***s but that’s been my experience. Dating a nice and pretty attractive girl now but I know it’s gonna be the same….they are just all the same. At least I’m having fun for now. Just gotta keep a clear head and not get brain washed lol | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/03/26 03:50 PM
Gave her a 2nd shot. Blew up in my face. Once a cheaterYou can get a separation agreement signed by all parties and that will put in place and spell out everything to be decided in the divorce to circumvent the 1 year of hell waiting period. Be careful if you move out of NC though because not all states recognize separation agreements….you don’t want her to get equity in a potential new house before it’s finalized even if her name is not on the title. Almost had that happen to me when I moved to FL during the 1 year waiting period | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/03/26 03:52 PM
Ex spreading false sexual rumoursIt’s just noise bro, she has nothing to get at you with except that. Just ignore it. Same s*** happened to me, several of the items you mentioned. Take it as a compliment she’s angry and therefore not over you | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/02/26 05:44 PM
Endless coping where is the light?I don’t have kids but I am going through a second divorce also. Your feelings resonate with me. All I can say is to keep on keeping on. Go out and do things even if you don’t feel like it and think what’s the point? I force myself to exercise, go for a walk, see sunlight. The only thing that will truly help is time. All things will pass. I know that doesn’t take the pain away, but just take it one day at a time bro. Wishing you luck and take care | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/02/26 04:32 AM
Any other men here feel like you were left for dead?1000% this. My STBX’s friend who I’ve met literally had been telling her to get a divorce and I was nothing but nice to her! | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/02/26 04:29 AM
What are your thoughts on this?Go grey rock or no contact on her. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/01/26 08:52 PM

Dating after divorce in my late 20'sYou need to feel good about yourself before you get back out there. Maybe hang out with your buds or hit the gym for a confidence boost. It definitely would NOT be a “step down” for a girl to get involved with you and thinking like that isn’t good for yourself or any vibes you’d be giving out. I was divorced at 32 and no one that I dated really cared. If someone is put off by that they’re narrow minded in my opinion. You don’t have to put any pressure on yourself that things have to work out wit… | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/01/26 05:29 AM
Ripped the bandaid off. Feel alone on an island. You are not alone, slightly different situation for me, but I’m also getting divorced without much support system. I thought we’d be together rest of our lives (don’t we all), have a family, and treated her like gold. I’m also 36. all my family and good friends are out of state though. Stay strong man. Harder in the short term no doubt but you don’t deserve all that bull s**. Leave her a*! Better to be alone than with a deceitful woman always having to be on your toes. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/01/26 11:51 PM
