I think you need a stronger opening. Everyone does the whole "dictionary definition thing". Make it punchy, to mirror the tone you're reaching for in your speech. Something like the quote that was posted to Men'sRights recently, which was a court decision that said that "a child is always better off with its mother". Then use the bias of the court to show its hypocrisy by citing the millions of children with drug-addicted mothers and normal fathers who were made to stay with their moms because o…
