Your basic point is right - many guys like the idea of having a "harem" of wives or girlfriends, but with equal numbers of men and women, many more men would end up single in that system. But as stated, you assume that in polygamous marriage, the man is polygamous, the women are effectively monogamous - or that being a polygamous woman means sharing the man. If instead polygamy means men and women both have multiple partners, then everybody can "win", in principle. In practice, there would proba…

Not a direct answer to your question, but the current school system might represent institutional sexism against boys. "Institutional" bias means that a system itself can be unhealthy for a group or harm them disproportionately, without necessarily having human prejudice. School requires boys to sit still and listen for many hours a day - something that testosterone makes harder to do. The teachers might not have a prejudice against boys, but they function in a system that is badly designed for …

If that is truly the defense, it is simply ethically wrong. Your grade on a test or paper should be solely based on the points you score in the paper - not your behavior in class (that should be handled with disciplinary action), not how you dress, not how attractive you are. If teachers wanted to have an additional behavior grade to factor into the marking period, that wouldn't be wrong - you can give grade credit for attendance and extra credit projects. But it should never be slipped into int…

If I were married, I would love to provide my wife with a life of leisure. But that would be a big gift, and absolutely not something that can be assumed or expected. (Or for that matter, something that I'd force on her if she wanted to work - obviously not.)

So I'd just ignore her for 2 reasons. She doesn't owe you anything. You approached her and she turned you down. This is not a friend who stood you up for an event. She did not owe you a number, so there is not much for her to be embarrassed about (except being rude). Her rejection was rude. She did not give you the smallest courtesy of a "no thanks" or "sorry, I don't think so." On both counts, you two have no further basis for talking. You definitely do not owe her anything over basic civility.…

I'm a noob, but would here is my take: you do not need signs. Just ask yourself if you are seeking validation from a girl, and don't let your attempt to prevent that change the way you answer - be honest. The real question is how to avoid that state. Suppose you really want to be with a girl and put a lot of effort into pursuing her - how do you keep that from being a validating (or not) experience? My answer would be not to make your life about that girl. Put effort into exercise, career, sport…

Yeah, I second this. AF/BB is certainly true, but also, plenty of women (/people) like an affair just because it's cheating. Their real partner gets associated with all the harsh realities of life and challenges of an LTR, and the fling gets fantasy extra-credit. The less mature the person, the more they tend to use cheating or destructive behaviors to break their connection with the realities of the day-to-day. She sounds like the type.

This sounds like perfectionism to me. Perfectionism means that you're not satisfied unless you have / achieve perfection. And you're starting to realize what's wrong with it—you never get to be happy. Or max, you'll be happy with one or two dates out of your whole life—those in which your play / performance was basically perfect. Perfectionism can be a great way to improve for a segment, but it's not a great way to live, because you don't get to /enjoy/ dates. (Or, like you said, you can't enjoy…
