This has helped me: https://www.artofmanliness.com/articles/fall-asleep-fast/ A routine to fall asleep in 2 minutes. Am not in the “any place, anytime” category yet myself, but hope to get there eventually.

I think you handled this well. Of course, the hard part will be to actually act on this boundary if she ever crosses it again. Let’s hope for her that she doesn’t.

How did it go?

Agreed. OP stated in another comment that he owns the apartment. So the recommended action would be to kick her out whenever she hits you. Sit her down for a talk (let her understand the seriousness of it) and warn her in advance of this boundary and consequences in breaking.

finally debt free besides student loans and mortgage. But our budget is tapped out each month, with no savings put aside. That means you are now spending the money that went to paying off the other debts, or am I missing something here? Time for a budget.

Personal Training Coach by Nazim Ashraf: https://itunes.apple.com/nl/app/personal-training-coach/id1325495597?mt=8 Has several programs included, like SL5x5, nSuns, Greyskull, Starting Strength, Madcow, PPL, Texas method, Boring but big, 5/3/1. And it allows you to create your own programs as well. Very fond of this app, can highly recommend.

I'm 40 and in my 3rd month of SL5x5. I think your starting weights might be a bit too high, hence the DOMS. You can still restart using only the barbell. This may sound silly, but I did that, and I didn't have any DOMS in these 3 months. Weights are going up quick enough, so it's not a big setback. Just my two cents. BTW: The app will guide you to 3x5 when you've deloaded a couple of times on an exercise. I would just use the app as guidance here. On failing the bench press: with these low weigh…

After rereading your story today I think you need to ask yourself if this relationship can ever work out again. There's been damage done with you chatting with girls on a "shady site". Why were you even there, not even 3 years into this relationship? What I mean is: do you think you can realistically go back to how it was before all the trouble? Or is the damage done and it's no use putting in the effort anymore? Difficult questions, and you don't have to answer them to me if you don't want to, …

I have running access to her iMessages. This is fucked up. And at the same time it doesn't tell you shit. What about all the other messengers available? Anyway, it's a display of enormous insecurity which doesn't get you anything. Get over your oneitis.

Stop smoking. That includes weed. Start by not smoking at work, this helps a lot. Stop spending so much and build an emergency fund so you don’t have to wait for your next paycheck to buy a fucking pair of sports shoes. Start with Stronglifts 5x5 or Starting Strength. About romantic dates: do active things together instead of boring dinners. Also better for her depression. Is that even real? As in: diagnosed by a shrink? Don’t make sex a goal.

Finances $18,000 dept with only one income. Holidays last two weeks wasn’t as bad a hit as I thought, but still a hit. Trying to knock the debt down, can control about $2000 spending a month. Will take 8-9 months… fucking Christmas will be shit as usual. (...) Any RP/MRP out there have some financial advice? I am willing to listen. Yes, I have some advice: you can't afford any more holidays untill that debt is gone. Decrease your spending and increase your savings/paying off debt. Christmas does…

Great! Sometimes it's enough to be able to look at your own form like that. Keep up the works and good luck with the improvements.

7 hours is a minimum, so if you can't get up later than 5 am, start going to bed by 9:30pm, read some paper (not mobile) and lights out at 10. It may sound childish, but will work wonders for your energy, mental and physical capabilities, and overall well being.

I am thinking about cutting caffeine out, but not sure how to operate on >5 hrs of sleep without it. What is your reason for cutting caffeine out? What is the reason that you sleep so little? 5 hours is not healthy at all, will have long term negative effects. Also your training is much less effective if your body doesn't have enough sleeping time to build the muscle in.

I think you handled the reno drama pretty good this time, staying with your "no" and at the same time offering a workable compromise (which is sometimes needed in a marriage). Also laying out your plans for the future is strong.

The problem is I get a sharp pain in my left shoulder during this exercise OHP is the most difficult exercise to master. Is the pain there while going up or down? Do you shrug you shoulders at the top to prevent shoulder impingement? From Stronglifts.com: "To avoid shoulder pain, Overhead Press with a narrow grip so you don’t flare your elbows. Then shrug your shoulders at the top. Press the bar over your head, lock your elbows and shrug your shoulders towards the ceiling. This engages your trap…

At 1.83 and 82 kgs you can’t be that fat, am I wrong? Anyway you’ll have to choose: lose the fat and get lean, or build muscle first. Getting lean can then be done once you have the muscle.

Yes, calculate your tdee and add 500 kcal on top per day. So if your tdee is 2500 kcal you aim to eat 3000, in actual food of course so no fast food. Edit to add: eat these 3000 each day, not only on training days! Muscle doesn’t magically grow on your training day, it’s also built in the days after.

Preparing the multi-year budget plan and talking this through with her is definitely a good plan and a step in the right direction. Let her know that you value your first mate's input, but keep in mind you are the captain.

Losing your shit is not the same as standing up for yourself. You need to read NMMNG and probably WISNIFG (although I haven't read the latter myself).

I’ve gone overboard with boundary setting in the past To be honest, I can hardly imagine that was the case, seeing how much trouble you have with this No.

Told her "no" two weeks ago. Last week, she backed off and suggested a smaller scope. I said I would consider it. Do you see the contradicting messages you gave? Your second 'line of defense' should have been done already, as you claim to have done but clearly didn't. What part of "no" doesn't she understand? I STFU again, though I was tempted to tell her that it's not going to happen. You are not clear enough to her. Just tell her it's not going to happen with your money. Final line of defense:…

MAP2.0 (I rewrote that for you) Stop slacking off on exercise I will go to the gym 3x a week and use good form. Stop eating processed food I will only eat healthy food. (Add "My body is my temple" if needed). (Long term) Stop buying junk I will only buy quality products that I actually need Stop ignoring broken items I will take care of shit Stop displaying low value I will think about myself in a positive way (talk follows) Stop emotional tunnel vision I will meet interesting new women Stop bei…

In another reply you mentioned: It should be obvious that we don't have the money to do the renovations and pay for our kids' college. This is what I meant with my earlier question: just tell her you won't do the renovations. If she asks why not you tell her it's because you prioritise your kids' education over some bullshit renovations you don't want.

The short version of the story is that I have about 2 weeks to make up my mind Fiscal reasons are not a good reason for divorce. Besides, you're already too late to use this. So don't get rushed into the divorce, think it over and take the time to make up your mind. It's not now or never, now is it?

I don’t understand why the renovations should be continued if you already said “no” and are not willing to pay for them?

Make a budget and get the wife on board on the benefits of saving money. Check r/personalfinance for more info on budgeting and paying off debt. This is crucial to get some of the other benefits in life. Stress about finances is causing bad decision making (short-term vs long-term interests).
/r/MarriedRedPill12/07/18 10:30 AM

This. And make sure the vision is shared between your wife and you, otherwise she probably won't see the need. It's a bit of a hassle to keep to a budget, so she has to be on board for it to work. The vision can be about what you two will do with the money: generate passive income by buying and renting out houses, taking a long (as in months) vacation, working less and spending more time together/with the kids... just some examples that might spark her interest.

Agreed. You could just tell her to stop complaining and state that you won't tolerate it since you came to have a good time. Or A&A into absurdity to make fun of her complaining.
