There were two. The two devs in question (Who I imagine are friends) had mutually decided that "I'd fork his [GitHub] repo" is the highest form of flattery. It wasn't even a sexual joke, although the unfortunate nomenclature of GitHub makes it sound like one. They did do something wrong, but I appreciate what you are saying; that they were essentially forced into doing wrong (or felt they were) by the sexual McCarthyism. I think a lot of you are confusing "PlayHaven" with "the PlayHaven devs" (Alex Reid and Mr. Hank.) PlayHaven was definitely wrong to fire Mr. Hank, and I think they'll suffer for it. The devs who were making the jokes were fine, and perfectly within their rights.

The organizations that run these conferences think they need to grow their attendance, and getting women to show up sounds like an easy way to get a 50-100% increase in attendance very quickly. The RadFem folk make a very convincing-sounding argument. "Women won't come because your conference environment is hostile toward women. Fix the threatening environment, and watch the money flow in!" I support any person's right to report overtly sexualized behavior that makes them feel uncomfortable in a professional environment. She still has the right to report what she feels offended by. I think we're in full agreement. You'll notice I called out "radfems" and "3rd wave feminists" in my rant, but then defended feminism toward the bottom. I, and I think most people on this board, want women (people!) to live in a society where they don't have to be afraid of being raped, murdered, or fired because of their gender, orientation, race, or creed. The radfems are squandering all of that good will by making the argument about jokes and "microaggressions." It pisses me off.

Seriously. The problem is that even people who disagree in principle don't know how to vocalize it. How do you argue against a policy which nominally forbids sexual harassment? There's no way to have a nuanced discussion about it, because the SJW thugs are going to frame your argument as "anti women" no matter how you phrase it.

PlayHaven (the company) capitulated to the SJW outrage machine before it even finished starting up.
