How is this a straw man

Yeah next time someone says they don’t understand why it’s not okay to lump all men into the rapist/abuser camp I’m going to show them this. “Why are people so insistent on saying NOT ALL MEN???” This. This is why.

You’re right. Women aren’t benefiting from men fighting for them in Ukraine. Women didn’t benefit in the state of nature when men fought for territory and established boundaries so women could live at home. Women don’t benefit from men doing the disgusting, awful jobs that require risk. You’re totally right. Just kidding - fuck you.

Like getting men to fight for them?

So that’s not at all what defines leftists and fascist policies. If you dig into it, leftism is about dismantling power structures and oppressive hierarchies. Every facet of leftism will link back to this. Fascism, on the other hand, is about maintaining strict hierarchies and subjugating people who won’t obey. Just because they shared one similar characteristic (and hardly even so) doesn’t mean you can’t say social justice is a fascistic ideology. It’s clearly not.

What misinformation is being spread here? This is just a lawsuit? It’s all unproven allegations by its nature. So no one should be accepting these statements as fact anyway.

Well…they’re correct in saying that. However, I think that response is inappropriate on their part. There’s no reason to just freak out and invalidate someone’s feelings like that. My advice to you is work on yourself. Learn a skill or a hobby. Read books. Become smarter, more fit, whatever. Keep your head down and grind. The only way you beat these people is by not playing their game. Focus on yourself and genuine people will come you way.

She says the verdict is a setback for all women? My sister in Christ, YOU ARE THE SETBACK. If she gave a shit about women being taken seriously, she would do the right thing and admit her and Johnny are both just shitty people that did shitty things to each other, but she can’t face the fact that it’s not all about her.

I’ve always found this argument to be particularly asinine

No you’re totally right. It’s not lost on me that many women probably feel like their only value to society is sex/looks. My qualm is that I feel like that issue gets duly addressed. The last part I agree with. Very in line with stoic principles.

You are not worthless! All men have worth outside of what they offer others.

Yeah. I have to continually remind myself that most people don’t think like internet people haha

I…agree with this. To be honest fellas - I don’t think I would burn my one shot at life caring for someone else that way. Even if the roles were reversed? Fuck em. It’s your life.

Not gonna lie bros - Sometimes I get really insecure at the thought that my value to society (but women in particular) is only gauged by what I can offer a woman. These articles really do confirm that.

Not gonna lie dude if I could pick between being a woman or a man before the 1960s I’d still pick being a woman. Men - will likely die in WW1, WW2, Korea, or Vietnam or come back with PTSD. But at least I can vote (but actually maybe not since drafting age was 18 and voting age was 21) and have a bank account. Women - can’t vote, own property, or have a bank account. Geez. It’s honestly kind of a no brainer to be honest.

I won’t sit here and make excuses for people that do evil things. But it gets so old when you go through your whole life being told you’re a problem. You’re weird. Men are gross. In schools too - where the majority of authority figures are women. Where young boys are disciplined more, falling behind more, generally just disengaging with society more. Meanwhile, all the resources are given to young girls trying to encourage them and be leaders and go into STEM or whatever. Which is truly a great …

It’s funny to hear women say stuff like this out of one side of their mouth and then get really hyped up about examples of women being ruthless in history and idolizing aggressive women.

Lol! I tried to keep it as short as possible! I don’t think men or women are the equivalent of slaves or even close to it (in any developed democracy) because people generally have free will. So I guess I’m not clear on what you’re getting at with your comment. That’s my thoughts.

2 - we could look at legislation or codes that favor women as well as generally accepted social attitudes. EX: “believe all women” type of stuff. Also, if you went to college in America you might notice the curriculum is interlaced with feminist theory. For example, I had to learn about toxic masculinity and rape culture in several classes. From my understanding, this is pretty standard. 4 - As we know, young boys are falling behind in school disproportionately compared to young girls. Yet, I ch…

There was a post this morning something to the tune of “can’t we all agree all genders need rights” It’s usually people accusing this sub of making the positions adverse.

I think your post is using a lot of conclusory language in it. I am pro choice. But no, abortion is not just about bodily autonomy for women. The rights of the fetus, if any, must also be considered. From you angle, they are not. Trans people are having “basic healthcare” taken from them? Please tell me what “basic healthcare” is and how you know when healthcare is “basic”? In my opinion, optional medical procedures are never “basic healthcare” and if you’re referring to teenagers not being allo…

“A recent meta-analysis found that a woman’s perpetration of violence was the strongest predictor of her being a victim of partner violence.” That’s a really weird way to say an abused man is defending himself. Edit: Badass username btw.
/r/MensRights07/05/22 04:12 PM

Just to add to this, a lot of the times the man will be arrested even in instances of mutual abuse. Obviously, partners shouldn’t be hitting each other ever. But it just means that the statics showing men as abusers are inflated, especially if we only look at crime statistics.

Absolutely.
/r/MensRights06/05/22 07:42 PM

Because the article is drawing this comparison. The response is that men do understand what it’s like to not have bodily autonomy. The abortion issue gets its due consideration. Mens issues generally do not. In fact, they are so glossed over that some people can’t even fathom that men can relate to losing bodily autonomy.

Who’s forcing women to take birth control? Condoms work perfectly fine. Also, i thought this is what feminists originally fought for? Also don’t many women get on birth control for other health reasons? Also isn’t this just blind man hating?

There’s a tweet or something floating around out there where this lady is saying something like “I wish men would show more emotion but so I get turned off when I have to see a man cry” and that’s stuck with me

This. You’re value is not simply what you can offer women despite that being message from not only women, but indeed, men too.

Is this really worth our time and attention? I really don’t care if they want to block off 5 hours for no men allowed. I’ll be either sleeping or drinking with my lady and my friends in a healthy environment. I simply couldn’t give less of a shit.

I see things like this, and I see resources being disproportionately prioritized to young girls, and I still see boys and men being told they’re the problem. And it’s just demoralizing to say the least.
