Constant insults and challenges from another guy?I've read the link about shit tests and about AMOGing but I'm slightly confused still. The link on shit tests says that the more unfazed I am the better, and I should remain calm and brush it off. But the advice on here is to straight up tell him to stop being disrespectful and threaten him with violence. If the guy is disrespecting me and my stuff, how can I challenge him and tell him to stop without looking riled up? But if I don't respond and let him do what he wants, I'll look weak. | /r/askTRP | 07/05/15 10:46 AM
Constant insults and challenges from another guy?I think he's doing it in a joking manner, so I think being physical like that would only make things worse. That would be his desired reaction from me, and it would make me look worse in front of everybody. That can't be the answer | /r/askTRP | 07/05/15 10:27 AM
How to treat female friendsThank you for your reply. All of these replies have said roughly similar things that 'friendships' with females are based around attraction or validation; either they are attracted to me, or I validate them. These are the only two reasons they might keep me around. I would agree that I do perceive an element of attraction in some of my closest relationships with females. However, I also feel that I have some friendships that are as close to platonic as is possible, either because they are in LTR… | /r/askTRP | 05/05/15 11:34 PM
How to treat female friendsMy aim here is not to hook up with these girls. I'm more curious as to whether I can genuinely maintain friendships with them on a platonic level, both because these friendships will benefit me socially, and also because I actually like aspects of their personalities. | /r/askTRP | 05/05/15 11:25 PM
How to treat female friendsSo by this logic all relationships with females are centred on attraction. Either I am attracted to them in which case I am an orbiter, or they are attracted to me, in which case they are the orbiter. If we are both attracted to each other then we hook up, and if neither of us are then we do not associate. Maybe I'm still plugged in, but I find this hard to believe. By a similar logic I could never be friends with a guy who was gay or bisexual. It is just an aspect of TRP that jars with me - I h… | /r/askTRP | 05/05/15 11:24 PM
Tips for overcoming my insecurity and making the jump from 'faking it' to 'making it'Thanks very much this is all very helpful. I agree, the identity thing has been troubling me, subconsciously and now consciously, for a while. The problem I find is that I often just don't know what I think/don't have an opinion, and this makes it near impossible for me to be dominant in any social situation. Sometimes when meeting new people I feel like I just facilitate their expression of who they are without any reciprocation. I need to dedicate myself to learning some new skills and trying … | /r/askTRP | 29/04/15 10:29 AM
Hanging with brosI'm the same, my comebacks either sound so uncomfortable or overly aggressive. I'm trying to learn by watching how my friends who are witty respond | /r/askTRP | 28/04/15 06:05 PM
