Men and women are equally pro-choice: https://www.vox.com/2019/5/20/18629644/abortion-gender-gap-public-opinion Countries that are very pro-life have no significant gender split. Countries that are pro-choice have no significant gender split.

Fragile masculinity is what they use when they make bigoted statements about men, who then get annoyed in response.

OP talks about "feminists", not "women", so saying, "they're lying shrews" refers to feminists. Lots of men are feminists and lots of women aren't feminists.

Lol, good catch. I normally hate judging people based on sub participation, butbwkth FDS it's very fair.

The whole anti-porn thing is so bizarre. On some occasions when I masturbate, I decide to look at porn. Probably like 10-20% of the time, or even less. I don't watch women getting gang fucked while choking on dick. I watch regular human beings having healthy, normal, erotic sex. Let's face it: you hate porn because you know most men will watch it to some degree, so demonising porn gives you an opportunity to demonise men. The person who commented, saying that porn damages your brain, is the fema…

Apparently they're going to go on a sex strike, but are worried that we might turn the world into The Handmaid's Tale. Like, no. I'd just be all, "You want to let the human race die off? Cool."

All men benefit from violent men. Getting beaten up or killed counts as a benefit, right?

I didn't think the ad was that bad at the time, but given how mainstream misandry has gotten worse, I do tend to ignore Gillette products now.

Femicides A.K.A Any time a man kills a woman. If this happened to a woman, they'd call it a gender-based attack or femicide, but when the genders are reversed it's just regular old homicide.

LGBT communities are going to be pretty feminist adjacent.

Like... I don't want to say go nuclear and break up especially in a marriage... With what little he's said, I'd be recommending that, but in reality, he should go to a therapist and talk to them about it and get some perspective. If someone screams at you, throw things, has become physical with you, can never concede anything in an argument, holds long term grudges over petty things, and it's taking a toll on you, then it sounds an awful lot like an abusive, or at the very least, a negative rela…

When even LGBT people are saying how feminism has a strong anti-male slant, I don't think anyone can accuse us of imagining it.

I was walking out of one of the Wembley NFL games and this middle aged man shouted homophobic slurs at a couple of guys ahead of me, who were holding hands. I was shocked and appalled, and feel ashamed that I didn't tell him to STFU. It really saddens me that in 2019, somebody still felt that negatively about two people's love, that they decided to harass them in public.

I was maybe 10 or 11, when a girl on the playground grabbed my school uniform and started stretching it out, to the point where she was going to rip it. After several pleas for her to stop, I felt the material start to give, so instinctively slapped her, with the bare minimum of force. I got chewed out by the attendant and told that a man never hits a woman. It's kinda fucked up when you think about it. What was I supposed to do - just let her do what she wanted to me?

Is it worth taking the survey even if you don't tend to talk to people about your problems?

The CDC's 2010-2012 survey had men being 20% of lifetime heterosexual rapes and 40%+ in the 2010-2012 period.

Women can easily call out trivial instances of sexism, and have people listen, apologise, and correct it (see the government's Covid lockdown poster showing the women doing the housework). Yet, despite the claim that we live in a patriarchy, I'd be legitimately scared to tell anyone in real life that I stopped listening to BBC Talkback, after they had a phone in session with the question, "Why are men such a danger to women?" I complained to the BBC and they fobbed me off.

He should probably change it to "why are there more sexist women than sexist men", but that still seems dubious, because there are different forms that sexism can take. It doesn't really sound like a productive conversation and seems quite generalistic.

"Men only bring up men's issues to use them to attack women", says the feminist, as they selectively focus on problematic behaviour where the perpetrator is male and the victim is female, while asking: "What's wrong with men that they'd do this??"

I'm opposed to most forms of feminism. I'd support a form of feminism that was simply advocating for women's issues, as long as it didn't mean pushing men's issues to the fringes of society. The clue is in the name - "feminism". You can't have a movement that is about gender equality, if it approaches it from the pre-determined standpoint that women are the ones affected by it. It leads to an automatic removal of focus on male victims of things like domestic violence, sexual abuse, harassment, p…

I haven't gone on a date in a while, and that's the stuff of nightmares for me. I always worried about it happening, but assumed I was paranoid. If I had the confidence, I'd try explaining that I was pro gender equality, but didn't identify as a feminist, had some issues with feminism, but wasn't really interested in discussing it (especially not on a first date). If they got upset and ended the date, sobeit.

Neither. Although there's definitely aspects of society that skew in either direction. I do think there's a general view in society that women are more precious, so problems that affect them are intolerable, while problems that affect men are just life. On the other side, women are less involved in the higher status and powerful positions in society than men.

I did initially think she had a point about the exclusionary aspect, which is something I'd normally complain about. However, feminists could easily set up "Women's Sheds", and having something explicitly called "Men's Sheds" is more welcoming for a lot of men. You know it's designed for you, so you feel encouraged to take part. If it was a gender neutral shed charity, I'd worry that I'd show up and feel out of place. Plus, you don't need to worry about interacting with the opposite sex, which m…

Someone claimed that rape victims were "largely" female, and male victims "largely" had male perpetrators. I pointed out that studies showed 30% of rape victims were men, and the majority of their perpetrators were female. I didn't have the source off hand and they ended up mocking my claim. I ended up producing a review of 40 studies regarding rape and sexual abuse, that generally show men experience it at half the rate women do, even in heterosexual relationships. They still weren't having it.…

I think a lot of them feel superior because they're "not like the other guys" - they understand and recognise the (as they see it) inherently problematic nature of man. Additionally, many may mistakenly believe that being pro-women means being anti-men. I guess that if you believe one group is either actively oppressing another or is standing by idly and letting it happen, then you will feel disdain towards the first group. You'll also consider any problems that affect them to be trivial in comp…

Thank you for posting this and carrying out this research. Ngl, I felt pretty emotional by the end, but it was quite cathartic. Answering questions about how I view myself helped me realise how destructive and untrue my thoughts can be.
