I don't know if this answers all your questions, but I have the same problems with a lot of friends. Easiest way it to let it roll off you. It's their opinion and not yours. You'll never change them. Make peace with that and move forward. Be who you are, but if they want to drag you down. Don't let them. Remember misery loves company. Sometimes it's best to not be that company.
