So you're just going to double down on being wrong? Eh, that's your problem. Enjoy.

Edit: I should say protects his future income, not assets. Assets (again, in Florida) are generally split 50/50 by default.

Yeah, I'm divorced with three kids so please, tell me how I "obviously have never had to deal with divorce court." In Florida it is exactly that - a straight calculation . They don't consider the "lifestyle" of children - they consider the lifestyle of the spouse for purposes of "spousal support," aka alimony. Also in Florida, custody is automatically awarded 50/50 and only deviates if there is compelling evidence to cause a deviation, such as one of the parents traveling extensively for work. W…

It doesn't matter as much if she divorces in that case because she makes more than you. You won't be stuck paying alimony, child support, etc. All of that is based on income. If she wants a divorce let her go for it and then she's on the hook paying YOU. Yeah, it's ridiculous, but that's the world we're in now.

Completely agree with your analysis. Before no fault divorce, alimony, etc, etc this wouldn't be good advice at all. But in today's world, it's sound. Until the legalized financial hazards of modern divorce are removed, men shouldn't marry unless they are with someone who can't divorce rape them. And unfortunately this means very few men should get married because finding women like you described are extremely rare.

A lot of people have a huge leg up and they never turn that advantage into anything close to resembling a Microsoft, Apple, or Amazon. Even managing to not squander an inheritance over a lifetime takes a degree of discipline. Not that I like any of those people, but we run the risk of complacency if we're just going to chalk every success up to inheritance.

Don't be too hard on your dad: he probably didn't know either. The programming has been going on for ages and was only exposed due to the free flow of information on internet. Hang in there brother, it'll get better.

Affair Partner. It's commonly used on the affairs subreddit. I sub to that as a reminder of how bad an idea marriage and even relationships really are. These people often have no remorse. Well, one of the sexes often has no remorse. You can probably guess which one.

"Diminishing returns" in terms of happiness, not dividends or investment growth. That 70K USD figure was determined several years ago - I want to say at least a decade ago so it probably has gone up quite a bit. I think it's the other way around: alimony is unique case to case, but child support is cut and dry and typically applied universally.

Yeah, I've been skeptical about this notion that prenups are overpriced toilet paper. It doesn't make sense to offer a legally unenforceable service. For myself, I married young, at 22. Neither of us had anything and by the time we divorced she had been a stay at home mom for years. I don't think any prenup could have prevented the tens of thousands in alimony and tens of thousands more in child support I have/had to pay. But like someone else here mentioned, it's a great reverse shit test. Coul…

The one constant that I've seen in relationships where the woman doesn't walk during a man's low point is that the man is excellent in bed. Not saying that's what's happening here, but I have to wonder how much of it is a contributing factor.

I wonder if it will occur to him how, once married, he'll be legally entangled with the state when considering what he "should do" about situations like this. Presently he can shut the whole thing down and walk away, or at least enforce boundaries and make demands before proceeding. Once he's signed the contract with the state (marriage) he'll legally be subjected to scrutiny for "financial abuse." Hopefully someone pointed that out to him in the comments section.

You might get down-voted for this but biology is what it is. We can't (or shouldn't) mock someone for freezing decade-expired eggs because biology, then get upset when biology violates our currently-held social norms. I have kids in this age range and I'm happy they aren't parents yet, but I know they could handle it very well if they had to in say, a much more primitive setting. I'll relay my experience which might appear to be unrelated, but I think has some strong parallels. I'm a middle age father and I felt like this after my divorce a few years ago. After a lot of reflection, journaling, and thought exercises, I came to realize my deep desire to find a good woman was a way to avoid taking responsibility for not stepping up to being the single father I needed to be. I can’t break up with her because that is just gonna drive her over the edge and she’s gonna kill herself I used to worry about this from my now ex-wife (3 kids and tens of thousands in alimony and child support later) back when we were first dating. You can't prove a negative, but the lack of evidence is evidence of the absence. Edit: having said that, I'm still pro Christian, despite being an atheist. Christianity has a eugenic effect, as you indicated regarding all religions. Islam does as well, and God knows they understand women better than Christians (and treat them accordingly), but the religion is the most violent one, by far. And to anyone who retorts "crusades," please go fuck yourself with your ignorant moral equivalence.

You're getting downvoted, but if you're middle-aged, this actually a thing. If the father wants to be a part of the child's life then he needs to pay child support. If he's willing to completely forfeit his parents rights that's his ... get ready for it ... CHOICE. But men aren't allowed to have financial abortions, ie, choose not to pay for the child: only women can do that by virtue of the physical abortion. Are they iden…

The only thing stopping us from breeding a slave class now is our morals. That's not going to change with artificial wombs: slavery will still be illegal and seen as wrong for the foreseeable future.

All good points, but I think a lot of us really would prefer the less-than-pleasing facts of a trad-con society. But if we had it and were born into it, would we even appreciate it? I don't know, but your comment offers some food for thought. The grass might really not be greener when we take everything into consideration.

This the ultimate and final red pill. For me, it took a very long time to swallow and it still repeats on me from time to time. Thanks for sharing it, though.

Having a different opinion requires the aid of a professional? I actually agree with you that women should have the options of liberty, but why would you think that someone who disagrees with that sentiment "should seriously seek help?" How would that play out in the therapist's office? What would a counselor even say to that person? It's just opinions all around. I, for one, think you should go fuck yourself with the full force of your own sanctimonious admonishment.

Best play is to do more of what she doesn't like and threaten to leave if she doesn't shape up. Worst case scenario: she does what you want. Best case scenario: she leaves.

I need to do this with my current GF. It's been over three months and I'm really pretty well done. I've tried being a huge asshole and it just doesn't work worth a shit. Time to be nice and loving ... ew. Not really into that but I guess I can try.

Could be. Certainly reads like MGTOW fantasy, but personally I'm ok with it since it serves for a good lesson, like a fable without the anthropomorphic characters :-)

I saved old emails, text screenshots, and journaled my thoughts while I was going through my last serious relationship. Can't say it's fueled my workouts, but they HAVE served to remind me of just how far I've come, AWALT, the patterns of emotions, etc. It's cringey to look back but the documents serve me well in avoiding future mistakes.

Many of the feelings she had for previous boyfriends were written out the same way as the passages describing me. Even down to specific compliments. It all seemed like a script. She had said the same things, verbatim, about her exes. Wow - so this isn't unique to this one chick I dated a couple years ago! She had written to me about how she had "never happen so fast for anyone before," and then wrote the exact same thing to another guy only a month later. We weren't exclusive but she had always …

Completely agree. Something slightly similar happened to me at 18, but I wasn't in love with the girl. A friend declared that I had a crush on this girl while in the presence of both of us. Instead of denying it I played along and we ended up dating for a short time. I got fed another red pill or two while dating her and I was really glad that my friend revealed this non-existent secret. Had I not played along it probably wouldn't have happened.

Just film and sell it, then it's legal That's actually pretty smart. Even if you're forever "casting" or "scouting for talent," as long as you set up some kind of company to do it, then it seems like that could work.

You gotta do what have to do. In a way, having a woman help you through this time is apropos. AWALT, but it's also true that many women will step up to the plate for a man if it benefits them somehow. You seem grateful for her help and I'm learning recently that gratitude is so important in life. Good luck, brother. I wish you the best.

Other than the "dying alone" part, I completely agree with you. I personally get so much meaning from life owing to being a father. We're biological entities and other than survival, our primary "purpose" is reproduction. Really, even survival is subordinate to, and for the purpose of, procreation. I'm not saying that one should be a slave to it and, indeed, there's a lot to be said about not giving into biological imperatives which is perhaps the humanizing thing we can do. But I can't help but…

So adoption, then. Not wage slavery. If the choice is fully in the woman's hands then the responsibility needs to be fully in her hands, as well.

I tell my blue pill friends this all of the time. "Do you know what women want?" They always answer things like money, dick, etc. I tell them it's a single-word answer: "more." They want it all and after that they want more of it. Edit: spelling

No, it's a quote I made up when I dated a particularly duplicitous and promiscuous woman a couple years ago. She helped jam the red pills down my throat with her words and behavior: two things which didn't match up at. She didn't lie to anyone other than herself so whenever I would point out how her actions and words didn't jibe, she'd get mad at me for noticing instead of examining her own psychological dissonance. Kind of funny too, since she has a bachelor's in psychology that she never made …

We really do focus a lot on women, don't we? Thank you for pointing that out to us because it's never been done before. I mean, if it had been, then you surely would have researched the reasons for this, wouldn't you? Because not doing so might make you look like the very unthinking, fact-free, NPC that we so wrongly accuse you of being in the first place.

She worked hard all day? Just standing around in high heels? How about him when he just fought a dude and won. I guess that's not hard work for them. But standing around looking pretty is. Good catch and an excellent example of solipsism; so wrapped up in her own experience she didn't for a moment attempt to understand his side. He doesn't look like he had any idea of what he was doing ... almost like he had just been through some kind of event that caused him to experience a neurochemical storm…

Yeah, it can get pretty cynical in here, for sure. Waiting as long as you did for the right match for you was smart and you're reaping the harvest you sowed by being patient and cautious. And fwiw, I NEVER said all women are bad. And I don't think it, either. Women are women and we have co-evolved to make our provider/protector and their hypergamous solipsism work to benefit the species. Obviously the problem now is the gynocentrism of the law. Remove child support, splitting assets, custody of …

The first word that popped in my head when I saw her was "viper." I think it's the eyes and the smile: they're like that of a vampire who feels assured you're going to be her victim soon enough. Obviously I'm reading into it, but it's just my subjective take on her facial expression.

I would be very surprised if she managed to get an actual upgrade who is willing to commit. She's probably been with a few higher market place men and thinks her options are wide open, when the reality is that she's being pumped and dumped. The only truly frustrating thing is that I doubt she'll ever even figure this out.
