It’s not your average black guy tho, it’s top tier black men too

Yeah I don’t disagree but the fact remains that alarm bells should be ringing and you gotta focus if your goal is a child and marriage

These attitudes don’t arise out of a vacuum, our biology also shapes our society so I don’t see this as some sort of societal pressure. Women who are single at 30 and want children should be alarmed because finding a partner and settling down takes time, which is limited

Admittedly though, the age for women’s decrease in fertility is lower so it’s more of an issue

I’m sorry that you live in a world where u believe most men would rape if they just had the chance. Fuck, no wonder people are extremist in their thinking, they have beliefs like this…

Ethnic looking? Even the phrasing of that, let alone the idea, paints you as an idiot

I want to say that for anyone who is being introduced to this only now, if these teachings resonate with you, take some time to journal and see how you would change things that are at odds with the words of mr Aurelius here. I've known about stoicism for a year or two, and it has had an impact on my life, but apart from a few, the many teachings did not seep into my core. I have let pleasure, and pain, and anxiety, and comfort, and many other aspects of my personality rule me, rather than the hi…

If youre implying that thinking you're a good person puts you into this group, that would be bad logic

Thank you, this is the kind of positive forward thinking I’m trying to adopt. Do you have any resources like books or vids that I can watch to improve confidence? I’m not interested in sex but I want to be better with people so I plan to approach before uni starts.

Ok so I could say 'lemme quit for a week', but I would just fill the hole with tv shows and mindless procrastination. Surely the underlying issue is what I should tackle? Isn't it better to find what i enjoy and is simultaneously productive and slowly phase out gaming, rather than saying fuck gaming and thinking its going to be a major catalyst in my life?

Some people have low self discipline. Why waste the effort trying to moderate your sins, fighting tooth and nail to stay above the water, when you can simply set your resolve and save your energy by stopping it cold turkey and focusing on other aspects of your life? The vice that is causing the issues would not be a problem if the person could self moderate like you say. At some points in your life, you have to decided whether pleasure or purpose is the driver of your life. Addicted people often…

I see what you're saying, but ive ran into this a couple times now. How do I break through this next hurdle in myself is what im asking?

Yeah I do remember a stage being there. When we went it was a normal club night with mainly hip hop. Great experience.

I get that you're jaded to these kinda things, but reinforcing the message that you can really go after what you want is beneficial to some of us. Climbing out from the bottom can be really tough. Like you said, success breeds motivation, it follows that the same rule exists for the opposite.

The disparity in intelligence may not be genetic, since intelligence I'd not wholly genetic and there are a lot of environmental factors. If you are poorer, you are less intelligent generally. There are other factors too, but the main thing is that race is more of a social construct than a true genetic divide. We are all the same tbh.

Good advice but I'm currently at uni and friends with some intelligent, awesome people that I can learn from. I believe severing those ties is not the wisest move. Although, I will take the advice that ill build myself as who i really am now, and see if they stick around. While that happens, I'll expand my social circle.

Easier said than done. When you are with people who you've known for a while, you more easily revert to old behavioural habits. How can I show people I've changed and cement a new version of myself in the process?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
