While we could try to pin "transmisogyny" to a specific theory or framework and fight over which one it is, it's best to just treat it as shorthand for "hatred of trans women" regardless of roots. I recommend an art or craft that has more women than men, but still enough men to not devolve into a strongly female dominated space. I'm into ceramic arts and sociable short men have no problems finding dates in these spaces, and mixed gender friend groups form very readily here and offer a good opportunity to learn how to be sociable across genders if that's an issue too. Having friendships with women is the best way to learn how to attract and keep a woman for a relationship IMO.

I've had pretty good results by discussing things I really care about with feminists, without attacking feminism in general. Bringing up CDC data on rape vs made-to-penetrate, the gender neutrality of IPV, and explaining the influence of Mary Koss as well as the Duluth model usually works for me. The goal needs to be to make then sympathise with men and their issues, not to make them anti-feminist. Show them the reality of the world and they will reach their own conclusions with self reflection.
