There is a mainstream opinion that only women can be victims of rape, and male victims get overlooked upon or not taken seriously. Most of the time when media talks about rape, they associate rape victims as only women and extremely rarely ever refer to victims who are men. And many traditional hotlines have always focused on female rape victims which enforced the perception that men can’t be true victims or that they “want it anyway”.

What I mean is that they used it as a generalization that all men are oppressors in order to justify hating all men. While it is okay to hate certain men who were actually oppressors, but hating all of men in this world is not justifiable.
