If you’re this early into the relationship and already having arguments I think it’s best to call it a day and move on. especially over something as little as who pay how much. Just imagine how both your lives will be in a few years where you’re invested in the relationship so don’t want to leave but your life is hell arguing over who’s going to feed the cat

I’m in the same boat, pater of 7 years wants to get married. Problem is before I met her I was happily living in my own home that I have a mortgage for. She has told me “when we get married” that she wants to be put on the mortgage. Get ready for it….she earns a quarter of my take home and has contributed roughly £100 to the house over 7 years. She paid some bills the first month she moved in then decided it’s too expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind paying the bills and mortgage as it’s …

UK here. Slightly off topic but still on target! I think the system definitely needs an overhaul. For context: I have him 3 days a week. I buy all his uniform. I buy all his clothes for over my house, he wears them over mine and wears them home and there is a 60% that they will come back. I take him on holiday every year (his mother haven’t taken him away) I take him out every weekend while he tells me his mum just tells him to go on his PS5 (that I bought him) Anyway…. I don’t understand how th…

That’s the problem with child support in the UK. No justification needed just a flat rate percentage of your weekly wage. He has asked to live with me but she has told him he’s not going anywhere because she can’t afford for him to leave until he is 18….that’s a genuine thing she has told a kid…effectively telling him that she needs him there until child support payments ends. It makes me feel so bad for him some times. If it was flipped she would 100% quit her job and go on job seekers just so …

Nope it’s a flat percentage of your annual wage no matter how much the mother of the child earns. They don’t even ask for her income, well at the time 13 years ago they didn’t anyway not sure if it’s changed now

Yeah it sounds like the CS systems are exactly the same for us both. They used the excuse that I was paying too little at the time and the fact that I was paying showed I had income and based it off that. I was basically sending money over via bank transfer with the reference as my sons name even though CSA determined I didn’t have too all while I was in uni to help out with food and clothes as I felt bad not giving anything. If I knew that would have been used as “evidence” towards milking me i…

That would honestly be the best and easiest solution to this sort of thing. Anything left over from the years of payments can then be transferred for the child for Uni or future training.

I was young when I had him, don’t regret having him at all because he is honestly the best thing that happened to me in terms of someone to love and see grow but it was with completely the wrong person. I have a few friends who enjoy their time with the same sex and I’ve never seen people so happy, constant happiness and money is their life lol

I completely agree with this, a set budget and if any extra is needed a justification needs to be given. When my monthly payment went up almost £400 I told CSA that I would rather only agree to it if I see itemised receipts for purchases because I know for a fact the majority of it is not going on him as she lives with her parents with him and holds down a full time job. That was a no go and I was told that if I refused to pay they will have to take action….didn’t tell me what that action was bu…

I had a child at the age of 19 and the mother refused to let me see my son for 2 years while we went back and forth court (due to her not letting me see him) at the time I was in university and had no job so CSA said due to the no income I had nothing to give (that’s as nice of them right?). Anyway, eventually got to see my sons and have him 3 days a week and with the job I got from university I was paying £268 a month…she then pushed for years to try and get a backdate for the time that I was i…

I had the exact same problem and went to the doctors regarding it. They instantly kept getting awkward and they would only offer anti depressant tablets as the side effects sometimes is “inability to finish”. I didn’t take that route and asked for a circumsision but the doctors said there is no chance they would do it unless that was a genuine medical reason because it could go either way of making it less sensitive or making it more sensitive. Only way I got over being extremely sensitive was t…

I wouldn’t imagine it is but I’ve seen a fair amount of stuff laces advertising like that in the UK. Once a few people called them out for it they promptly changed it so I imagine it’s a grey area. Once the applications are in “what they don’t know won’t hurt us” though.

A few years back where I live the local fire service put an ad out asking for applications from ONLY non-white or straight people. People complained and they reverted the ad to “accepting all applications”. Needless to say I already worked for them and when the applications come if you ticked straight or caucasian that application was put straight in the bin….the first thing they genuinely looked at on an application was them two boxes. 1 year after this I quiet my job there because they were hi…
