I asked her out, she told me "Haha very nice offer but I'm working Saturday night :(." (she was laughing at the joke). So it's... not a No... But it could be an excuse. Either way I told her I wasn't available Sunday and that "maaybe some other time."

Definitely smile more but, no, people generally DON'T make eye contact. Especially Asians/Middle-Easterners/some-Europeans. You're probably not intimidating as long as you open up and talk more. I once went up to a very huge buff muscular guy and asked him for tips, and he was so very friendly once you talk to him. It may make you less approachable at worst--but it makes it super easy for YOU to approach.

How is it obvious that she's desperate? Missed the shot to say or do what exactly? There is no missed shot since I didn't even truly ask her out. Wimpy in what way? You're all vague with shit talk but you have nothing to contribute.
