2	Never Buy A Girl a Drink. First date, dude should always pay. Even if the girl insists, I'll pay. Maybe it's being from the South, but it's always been the way I go and it's been well-received and appreciated, even if I don't end up dating the girl long term. 9	Talking to girls is like writing an essay. 3 examples It doesn't matter how you say it. It's an odd (and forced) way to start any conversation. Think of it from her (or any human's) perspective. If someone tells you their name and then follows up immediately with "are you going to remember that?" you're going to think "Yes, of course, you idiot. You just told me your name."
