Congratulations! You're even dumber than you were the last time you got married! Why in the world would you get married again? Especially at your age! It's not like she can pull the "so we can have kids and be normal" card.

If you are looking at CS/SS you should stop contributing. They use that in the dissomaster under pre-tax, and it ups your obligation if you are the higher earner. My attorney did not catch that, but the opposing counsel did at the last minute. My obligation went up a bit after they included it.

That's because we're men. We are accustomed to thinking about the common good and being rationale.

Bring it to CarMax or submit the info on Carvana. That is the appraised value.

At the TRO hearing, my ex wife's attorney asked for $30k in attorney's fees. Mind you this wasn't even the final hearing and it was the first time we were in front of a judge after almost 18 months. The judge ordered me to pay $15k, which definitely made a settlement more appealing for me. This was in CA and our incomes were uneven, she makes $100k and I make $150k.

Try your best not to get lawyers involved, since you'll be paying for BOTH yours and your wife's. In my state, there is an online child support calculator where you just input all the income and custody data, use that and offer your soon to be ex 50/50 custody. Write down all your assets, subtract the debt, and then offer her 50% of the value. I tried mediation and it didn't solve anything.

Dude, she's already escalated this to the point of no return. She's purposely keeping your children away from you, their father, on Christmas. I'd go full nuclear war at this point, otherwise it sets a precedent that she can use the kids to hurt you with no consequences.

Easy, don't marry. There really is no benefit to it for the higher earning spouse.

Yes, 2-2-3 works the best for me as well. For example, Parent 1 has them Monday and Tuesday, Parent 2 has them Wednesday and Thursday, Parent 1 has them Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Then the schedule switches. So Parent 2 has them Monday and Tuesday, etc.

Sorry, I misread that as CA-LA. My bad.

You're in CA. The default is 50/50 unless there is documented abuse. Lawyer up and settle for nothing less than 50/50.

They could handle that as well.

Look into Estate lawyers in your area and ask them about setting up a trust in your daughter's name. That's what I did and all of my property/investments will go to them after I die. You can appoint someone to manage the trust on their behalf until they hit legal age if you were to die unexpectedly. But definitely get an attorney to set this up for you.

To be safe, open a new account at a different bank than the one you use for your current joint account. Create a new brokerage account at a different company than you currently use for your investments. You want to avoid "commingling" this inheritance with any funds that you have used to maintain the marriage. So if you put it into an account, that may be separate and not a joint account, and to have used that account to pay your separate expenses previously, like a car loan in only your name, t…

Stop listening to what your wife wants. Get a lawyer and listen to them. You have the same amount of "rights" when it comes to your child's time. Two homes are fine. Seriously, sit down and get a few consultations with lawyers. You'll feel much better about yourself and the situation.

The higher earner will end up paying child support in a 50/50 custody arrangement. If you're wife is the higher earner, you won't be paying a dime.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
