There is a lot more support for fathers, but we need much more. In California, there are all sorts of fathers groups and organizations, including part of first 5 California and the California Fatherhood Council. In a personal level, typically more attention is paid to Moms. But I would also not let offensive trolls bother you. There are so many awesome people who support fathers like you—find them and ignore the haters Good for you for being a great father and good luck!

June is Men’s Health Month and has Fathers Day in the US, and November is Movember, Intl Men’s Day, veteran’s Day, and there is a new designation as well from the International council o. I've been shouting this for years, I don't know why it's such a hard idea to comprehend that ignoring and even pissing off 48% of the voters is bad strategy. There are several different laws that may be applicable. That's a good point, and it's definitely a challenge. And that's exactly what happens whenever you try to advocate for men -- they bring up the name of an extremist, who happens to live in Europe, who has nothing to do with US politics. Not exactly gotcha, but I always ask if they care about the well-being of boys and men. If the answer is no, then you have an admitted misandrist and focus on that. Why don’t you care? If you read my book, you’ll find that I agree with your sentiment. I suggest that male well-being should be a focus regardless of votes. And in fact, it shouldn’t be partisan. However, Democrats are losing among men badly, so I’m hoping that realization incentives them to do the right thing. I agree -- in fact, I frequently point out that even if Harris were leading by 10 points, I would argue for the same changes: adding men's issues to the Dem platform and website, creating an office of men's health, etc. It's better policy, and better policy supports ALL constituents. During an election season, when people are counting votes, it's an opportunity to get the word out about the legitimate social issues of men and boys.

Over the years, there have been a few that pointed out the Democratic failures with men, but somehow it's has never gotten traction. In 2007, there was a book called "The Democratic Dilemma" which focused specifically and the Dems failure among white male voters. It hasn't been a secret that it has been true with all men -- the data is clear -- but somehow they haven't figured it out. I feel like this year, at least more attention is being paid to male voters, if not their real issues.

Men need to walk a very fine line, and that’s not appreciated. If you’re too forward, as you mention, it can be considered at the least offensive, perhaps even illegal. If you’re not forward enough, you could end up alone. Men have burden of going just in between the two in order to find someone.

I wish you well. I’m older, but I know it’s a tough time to be your age. Covid was hard on everyone, and in the last 2 years a lot of internships and new jobs dried up. These things go in cycles. Good summary. I would add that Biden has a Gender Policy Council whose mission is to only focus on women and girls. $12 Billion proposed for women’s health only. Further, the 2020 Democratic Party Platform, whose authors Biden approved, also only focuses on women and girls with some mentions of transgender and non-binary. Trump isn’t so much pro mens rights as much as simply not anti-men IMO.

Are you going to mirror a specific female only event? In California, also look up the Unruh Act. That’s the law that says you can’t charge men and women differently, for instance haircuts or drinks. Not sure exactly how it applies, but you might want to look into it.

The commission was a temporary commission that made a report that suggested things. The city and county of San Francisco has a permanent department for women whose budget this year alone is $13 million. So think about that.

Yes, I agree. I spoke to the jobs issue in the post I linked. He does some things, as you mention, that do in fact benefit a number of men. But he never directly addresses men. I see the increase in prostate cancer research which is good to know. It’s still way below breast cancer, but the increase is significant. He could have mentioned this in the speech as well. Why not trumpet the good things you do for men, too? A lot of the problem is messaging.

I'm just curious -- you don't have any issue with multiple points supporting women, and none for men? For me, I just don't understand why he just doesn't say something simple in support of men. It's not either/or -- he can support women and throw men a bone at least. Of course he was going to talk about women and abortion. But he's already got the women on the left. He needs moderate/independent men in swing states to win. He literally doesn't even mention us. He needs to do better than -8% with men, at this point he is taking men for granted. It may cost him.

And they should. They need male votes to win, and ideally, we want all political parties competing for male votes.
