Basically what they were saying is I would be a good slave to my wife

I have been given an even worse "compliment" I live alone so I cook, clean, do all the chores on my own, hell I make my own bread, so my relatives have told me i would make a great stay at home husband. The red mist genuinely descended upon my eyes for a second when I heard that.

Life is hard, but then again most of us grow up in that situation, so it becomes the default, I would say I'm lucky, I got my dream job of working on games and am earning to keep myself well fed. Crime is somewhat a common thing and again luckily where I live it's very low. You have your good samaritans but again a lot of people are struggling on a daily basis, so loving is kinda relative

India needs to focus on developing and publishing games here. We have a lot of talent but it's mostly going into outsourcing

My aunt's and uncles lost their mind when I said I'm becoming a game artist/designer after i finished school, for context I had 95% in accountancy and business studies.

I feel you brother. It seems for me it's a bit easier since I live alone and my dad only cares if I'm making enough money to have a proper life for me.

Depending upon the caste, the state, your religion it varies, but a week long thing is a common thing. Side note, I absolutely hate it when there's a wedding in the family. I absolutely hate this stupid traditional stuff Another side note, it's also used as a way to display your wealth (which in my opinion is a pretty stupid way to do it) so that you/your wealth become talked about thing among the people

Best advice I can give is; Stay silent, get a job and move on enjoying your life. Actually the advice that I would give everyone in this subreddit is make sure you are happy and enjoying your life because no one else will do that for you. This is something I learned after my mother passed away. She used make sure that anything she did or could do would make everyone else happy and well that she never spend time to take care of herself. After she passed away everyone else remembered her for few…

Actually that's one of the reasons I told them. I said, I don't wanna deal with the financial burden (more like financial waste) that happens after marriage

Thank you.

I told them no. I have my dream job now, I'm on my own enjoying life. I'm not throwing those away to follow some old ass useless traditions.

I'm also from India and you wanna know what I told to those who said "get married" to me? Fuck off. I got lot of hate for it, but fuck them I'm here to be the prefect me and enjoy life.

Hey, I'm also from India. Never had a girlfriend, never bothered with that cause I always had this instinct to never trust the opposite sex. Like everyone I was also forced to get married (but mother passed away two years ago) and my dad's pretty chill so I said to rest of the family fuck off I ain't marrying. They are all still angry about that, but they don't bring it up now. Now, I'm working and living on my own and its the best feeling. Wake up, Go to Work, Come back, Play Games, Sleep…

I never trusted a female in my life. Not even in school. I never had any kind of friendship or any kind of contact with the opposite sex at any point in my life. I only found this sub few months ago but it felt like I returned to my long lost home. I felt like this is where I'm supposed to be
