My grade 12 english teacher LOVED when I wrote about controversial topics. He would read them to the class and say "WOW!" and "BOOM!" after each of my important sentences.

A few months ago, I cared what everyone thought, and now I don't. Honestly, I think it came by being satisfied with my life. My girlfriend likes me for who I am, so I'm comfortable being myself. I've learned that I'm more attractive than I thought, so I started to realize that women were checking me out (even a little bit) and that made me satisfied. I'v…

Stop asking for permission for everything. Stop being afraid to act in your own interest. Stop bottling up your emotions and opinions. Just fucking own it. Own life. It's yours. We talked about this in sociology 101. A part of me has trouble with the marketing juggernaut that breast cancer has become. As much as Coke or McDonald's or Nike or Apple, breast cancer is a brand. It has a logo. It has spokespeople. It has merchandise. It has sponsored events. It has celebrity endorsements. It has a trademark color. It has one of the best P.R. machines around. It has a designated month. Not a day. Not a week. A month. It doesn't have a jingle—yet—but it does have an anthem in …

Sadly, I agree. Finding out gives you a sense that not everything around you is what it seems. It helps you question things, and put you back in reality.
