Yeah I don't know being the youngest of gen-x is a weird place to be socialization wise I guess. I get what you're saying about this conversation, to because it's not really something I conciously think about how to do. My spouse is fairly introverted so I actually had a whole conversation with her about how answer the question. Anyways good morning to yaa, and I hope you have a great week. Also thanks for a nice conversation!

Yeah, I don't know. It's not an easy question to answer. But someone asked me how I meet people in places like coffee shops and dinners. And the answer is honestly that I just start talking to the people around me when in a public place for long enough. At least that's the best I could figure out anyways, it's hard to explain how to do something that I don't actually think about doing before I do it. I should point out that I'm not talking about hitting on people, I'm actually really crap at tha…

The authts probably around 07 really for most of my chillin in dinners wound down. But I think part of it is just being the type of person that isn't afraid to interrupt people. I mean, there's this kinda hyper polite thing I see a lot of the younger generations do, where they will text to ask if it's a good time to call. Which I don't know, it's cool and all, but I was socially conditioned before we had these tools. Heck, when I was a teen I wouldn't even call people before stopping by their ho…

I guess for me it was a couple of things. And there are a lot of different kinds of coffee shops. But I spent the better part of 7yrs spending most of my free time in coffee shops and dinners mostly in Houston, San Diego, and Yokosuka Japan. And I was usually drawing which tends to be very inviting to people. I also tend to just start talking to people when I've kinda made it my second home. I really did too, I was usually in one of these places for three to eight hours at a time and usually at …

I mean hanging out at the coffee shop is fine, as long as they do that second part and meet people while they're there. I've met tons of people at coffee shops but coffee shops tend to attract the kinds of people I get along with too.

It seriously is. People like being around calm relaxed people. If you're stressed out & feeling hopeless that's not a comfortable vibe for others. And often people who don't know you are just going steer clear, not even necessarily consciously just instinctively.

This is exactly the intent of the saying though. It's not meant to be a comprehensive dating strategy. It's just meant to relieve the anxiety a little and help you break out of an unhelpful mindset. But also when people use this saying they're not saying it'll be easy, but more that the circumstances of how people meet are often random. You'll still have to go through all the normal steps of developing a relationship etc... And relationships especially the ones that are worth it are a lot of har…
