unfortunately, I see on a lot of Men's sites this sort of mentality that if you get married there's all this risk, but many of those guys will live unmarried with a woman and much of that risk is still there. And to a certain degree probably worse because people tend to do more "vetting" of who they marry than who they live with.

My guess is that discrimination against men might not be as clearly illegal in the UK as it is in the US, but it seems that even apart from sex-based discrimination there may be some violation of your labor rights (which may be stricter in Europe than the U.S.). It seems like he didn't give you an opportunity to defend yourself and that he acted so quickly to wipe your computer (maybe removing evidence?).

My view is that the right to chastity is higher than the right to sex. In other words one persons right not to have sex is more important than the other person's right to have sex. Same principle applies to dating, it requires the consent of both parties. I think it's okay to criticize how people make their dating choices, but there shouldn't be a legal obligation for one person to date another.

Dobbs didn't just repeal Roe, it also repealed Casey, which among other things struck down a Pennsylvania requirement that the mother can't abort without notifying the baby's father. So the Dobbs decision is good for men's ability to protect their unborn children.

I think part of the problem today is that people are conditioned to think "violence is bad," but violence is really a fact of life. You see this a lot in debates about gun control, where so many people just assume that guns are bad. Yet many people are alive today because they defended themself or someone else using a gun. And not just against other people, but also there's a lot of dangerous animals out in the world.

I think that's the problem people don't realize. If you don't take responsibility for your actions, someone else has to suffer the consequences. If you don't financially support your kid either the kid goes without or it falls on the taxpayer. If you steal from a store you increase costs for other shoppers. etc.

As a conservative pro-life man, I call the "if women can abort, men shouldn't have to pay child support" people "boy's rights activists" not men's rights. If you want to call yourself a man, take responsibility for your child. Part of being an adult means you take responsibility for your actions, you don't offload the consequences onto somebody else (like aborting the child or not supporting it).

I'm not sure if ACB is more pro-life than the others (also I should also point out that Gorsuch is Protestant given the whole "six Catholic extremists" talking point). Plus, overturning Roe doesn't mean the court is banning abortions, all it does is say there is no right to abortion in the constitution, and certainly there is no explicit right. All pro-choice/pro-life aside, it seems like overturning Roe is the intellectually honest thing to do. I don't see how you can read a "right to privacy" …

Sure it's going to be challenging, but who knows what technological adaptations we will come up with in the course of the next twenty years. I think global warming will kill some people, especially in poorer and warmer countries, but not to the point where it will kill everybody. I don't think that's a reason to never have a kid, human beings have been through way worse (e.g. the ice age). And if climate change is such an issue, then it's going to take people to solve it.

One thing that jumped out at me is that rapists are more likely to believe "no means yes" and to believe their manliness depends on having sex with a large number of women. Yeah, from what I understand there isn't much of a gender gap in abortion support. A similar percent of men and women are on both sides of the issue, it's just that women tend to be more extremely pro-life or pro-abortion than men.

Would this law apply to priests and monks? Forcing someone to marry is a violation of their rights. I would be somewhat okay with a fine or increased taxation on childless people (unless they have a medical condition that renders them sterile). I don't think I want to have kids, but that means that when I'm old then somebody else's kid will have to take care of me, so if I have to pay more to "invest" in the new generation, I don't think that's terribly bad.
