Bro you're way too obsessed with beta/chad/kissless virgin incel terminology and viewing relationships through status exchanges lmfao Lots of normal people have relatively normal social lives and friends. Im 25, my gf is 23, some of our friends are younger, and this still holds.

The only conservative part of STEM is the E. This is why STM folks make fun of engineers, along with the cargo shorts and virginity. Almost every mathematician and scientist I've ever met is either a liberal or a socialist. Tech goes both ways economocally but tends to be socially liberal and anti-authoritarian. The only Republicans on college campuses are studying business, engineering, econ, and pre-med, and even then they're in the minority.

dude professors make like 100k a year after bringing in 3m a year in research funding. the real people profiting from the student loan bubble are the admins and contractors who build luxury student dorms or whatever

Yeah a little bit for sure. I took a course this semester which covered gender development. One pretty robust finding in the research is that during adolescence, people tend to either become more gender flexible, taking on adaptive traits more typically associated with the other gender, or undergo gender amplification, where they maximize their expression of gender norms. More men pick the amplification option, and more women take the flexible route. Because traits which are adaptive in modern s…

I interpreted you saying "men have to be cocky in everything they do" to mean "men have to try harder."
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/19 04:40 AM

Cockiness is literally caused (in part) by testosterone. Men supposedly having it harder is irrelevant even if that were the case.

You make it sound like ending slavery and granting women suffrage were acts done out of conscious cynicism with the intent to reinforce moral authority and grow the labor pool and devalue men, respectively. What evidence do you have to support these claims? Is it not a simpler explanation to suggest that these aftereffects were unforeseen byproducts of movements which emerged from an earnest desire to create positive reform? In other words, is this not the "invisible hand" of the social sciences…

RDR2 is unironically good though. Other than that I haven't enjoyed a game in years, and most of what I enjoyed of it is just reminiscing on the first one. I tried replaying it and got pretty bored pretty quickly though

You can say she's narcissistic or a narcissist. That's fine. You can't claim she has Narcissistic Personality Disorder unless you're a trained professional who has seen her in a professional setting.

IQ has become a massive part of the intellectual Zeitgeist. Hell, even one of my professors made an offhanded comment yesterday about how "you can't talk about racial differences in IQ in the humanities anymore." It's one of the weirder things that has come out of trumpism.

Speaking as a psych major, there are two types of psych majors. There are those who are psych majors because lol they couldn't think of anything else and Becky and Sally are taking psych classes and dads paying for school so who cares, and then there are psych majors who seriously plan to get at least a masters and go into the world of therapy and/or research. The former group is why psych majors have meh outcomes. The latter group treat their field like STEM majors do; they're serious students …

Oxycontin is an opioid; you're thinking of oxytocin. Oxytocin is a hormone and dopamine is a neurotransmitter; there aren't oxytocin receptors in the brain which can get worn out like there are dopamine receptors. A SHIT TON of oxytocin is released when giving birth. If your argument held, then it would be impossible for women to love their younger children as much as their first, and giving birth would ruin the ability to pair bond. This is obviously not the case.

Hey there my guy. I was you at 17, and had drug problems and severe depression as well. Now, at 23, I'm frequently complimented on my personality, told that I'm a great conversationalist, and look the best I ever have. What I would do if I were you: start the weight loss process. Use an app like MyFitnessPal to track your calories and stay under. Maybe start out with a diet like keto to get the weight loss started and so you can learn more about macros. Eat enough protein. If it's not too nerve-…

Right, but introversion itself is not unattractive. Shyness and timidity are. Being a brooding mysterious guy who likes his alone time definitely isn't a bad thing as long as you can turn on the charm when it counts.

Probably correct tbh, but in my experience it doesn't even have to be with someone higher value as long as the partner is close enough in value. I have a female friend who's really attractive, probably a 7.5-8, who I had an unrequited thing for, but since I started dating a girl who's probably 6.5, I'm chiller with just being friends with the more attractive girl.

Why is this sad? Genuinely asking. I honestly don't understand why it's bad to want sex on the first date if you view sex as a means of giving affection? For me sex is the ultimate way of forming a connection with someone, it shows that you give a fuck, it shows your relationship is different than a relationship with a friend or a random makeout at the club. For me, if I want sex on the first date it means I really like you and want to feel connected to you, it's not some perverse pleasure.

Too bad we don't have a planet which can sustain 10 billion+ people at current levels of consumption. Asteroid mining could solve some of this, but the effects of excess carbon alone will be catastrophic. We need fewer people and lower consumption rates, or climate change will reduce the population for us. "but what about the pensions" is the smallest of our worries.

I agree to a certain extent with the guy you're talking to. Young INTx guys tend to be really awkward even relative to ISTx guys and frequently spend too much time online or with nerdy hobbies etc and don't develop socially until later than most. As a result they can come across as a bit "autistic" in the colloquial sense even if they don't have the actual empathy issues of aspergers. This is especially true of INTPs whose inferior function is extroverted feeling, which doesn't develop until the…

Traveling while young isn't that expensive if you prioritize it tbh. Live at home, work a job that doesn't just pay minimum wage, don't go out to the club every weekend, don't have a stupidly huge car payment, and hey look you can afford to go to Thailand over the summer. I recently did this and spent 2500 total for a month in Thailand and Cambodia including flights. Was totally worth it.

Literally every single energy drink has B vitamins. Amp, rockstar, monster, etc, are almost all exactly the same except for flavors and sweeteners used. There are a couple drinks which have some light nootropics in them, but they're still kinda hard to find.

Lol the NSDAP was only remotely lefty for a couple of years in order to dupe the populace. They purged their entire left wing on the night of the long knives after they secured power. Besides, Nazi Germany was economically propped up by western industrialists looking to make a buck while Germany rearmed itself so it could jump off a cliff into a sea of Russians.

Most communists in 1917 agreed with this perspective, too. When the Russian revolution happened, there was a huge split in the socialist movement. Prior socialist orthodoxy said that the revolution had to start in the world's most developed nation (then Germany, now America) because socialism is what comes after capitalism develops fully. Lenin came along and said no, socialism could start in barely-industrial Russia and be used to build up the nation. Most Marxists found this to be highly unlik…

Common cult/"underground group" tactic. Not saying TRP is a cult, but it's a specific worldview which has its own language, which forces you to invest mental time and energy into learning the shit so you go deeper into said worldview.

If you're overweight, prioritize losing it. I used to be a really heavy dude and while never being small, there is an enormous difference after having lost weight. As far as the ED, tell your doctor. Should be able to get Viagra. If not, online pharmacies. Also lift more, it prevents ED.

I think with AI, instant communication, and automation, we have a good chance of making socialism work. Those systems, when combined for the sake of everyone equally, could force socialism in an efficient, utilitarian manner. It could work if there was political will.

It partly depends on how you frame it, and is also partly due to unknown factors. Some people are driven to become "survivors" and derive some satisfaction from it as a way of coping with the pain by repressing it etc. Others feel too deeply and are crushed.

Jordan Peterson, in his current role as internet philosopher-king, is simply a motivational speaker. He's the Tony Robbins of 2017. I'm sure he's furiously writing a mass-market book as we speak. Now, that's not to say that he's not worth listening to. Sure, he's got some genuinely good ideas and points. But he's not infallible, he's not omniscient, and he's not the be-all end-all. Peterson professes a pragmatism that has long been part of American culture; the only reason why he's striking a ch…

There's a balance required, though. I know a lot of gen X folks who are too fatalistic and resigned to life being shit. They could use more positive thinking. And millennials could do for some more grounded, gritty perspectives. I've noticed that once the initial gap is bridged between people like this, each can learn a lot from the other's perspective.

Tesla died a virgin and was in love with a pigeon. I recommend avoiding adopting his worldview unless you want to become a single-minded person who is concerned solely with science and invention. If you're here to fuck bitches, his mindset is about as toxic as possible lmao

Posts like this make me think I'm the only lefty in this sub lmao. You can accept the truth of hypergamy, acknowledge the importance of personal growth, and embrace the shattering of social illusions while still being a leftist. In fact, socialism is entirely about red pilling the working class and inspiring them to stop being betas. Socialism isn't about dumbing down the masses and letting them be lazy cucks. It's about telling them they're getting fucked and inspiring them to become alpha enou…

She's wrong, though. Scarcity was a larger factor for hunter gatherers, as there's only so much to hunt and gather in an area. With the introduction of agriculture, people were incentivized to "breed like rats," as more kids = more farm productivity. This is why the population skyrocketed once humans settled down. Her main point is only true for 99% of humans after the onset of the industrial revolution and capitalism.

I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine…

The far left is not against guns. My city in the southwest US has a "John Brown Gun Club" which is basically a communist militia. I imagine this is part of a broader trend, but I could be wrong. Liberals don't like guns, but leftists have always supported arming the proletariat. Either way, there's not gonna be a civil war. There's not gonna be a race war, or a clash of ideologies. When people grow up and get jobs and credit card debt and loans to repay and such, they spend all their time and en…
