Do you really expect anything better from the people who frequent this sub?

It's an almost purely cosmetic medical procedure on an infant, so I guess it's a matter of opinion, but I'd consider that wrong.

Notch has turned out to be pretty scummy, now that he has all the time and money he'll ever need he doesn't really try to keep up a good appearance. If you look through his Twitter you'll see what I mean.

your vagina is showing Lol is that the kind of insult people use in this sub?
/r/PussyPassDenied25/12/16 10:44 PM

Jeez, people in this sub don't even try to hide the racism.

Am I the only one seeing the irony here?

That's not what they said. Their point was that women can have an orgasm from rape but that does not in any way mean she consented. Just like a man getting an erection does not mean he consents.

I don't think I've been doing a great job at conveying what I mean. Yeah, I agree that cis can be and is used in a negative way, but there is nothing inherently wrong with the root of the word. That's why I've been so focused on context. Context is what will make it offensive or not, in my opinion. A lot of other slurs have roots that mean negative things or have long histories of being used as slurs, but "cis" is still new, the public perception of the meaning of the word has time to change, ho…

I think a lot of the time things that would be positive towards cis men the writer may not feel that adding the label is necessary, because in most contexts it's just assumed due to being much more common. Most of the time when the label may be necessary to provide additional information the cis men aren't the main focus of the conversation, so that leads to it being more often a neutral context and sometimes a negative context.

Isn't that the same with almost every insult oriented at a class of people? Most of the words used to indicate race / sex / gender / orientation weren't developed to be intrinsically insulting but developed that meaning through use. This is true, but most have etymological roots that already had negative associations. This is the same argument used by people opposed to the idea of political correctness. Unfortunately that's also true, but my argument here is to try to move the word away from bei…

Here's my point. There's nothing wrong with being cisgender or the word itself. The issue lies with the people who, for some reason, have a bias against cis men. Even without a word to indicate that somebody's gender matches their biological sex(which is really only needed in very limited contexts) the issue with people being biased would still remain. I'm not sure if I'm being downvoted because people think I'm being rude, or just disagree with me, but I'm just trying to contribute a different …

That's because that's not the type of stuff that gets upvotes, especially not on Reddit where most of the votes on articles are from first reactions to the title.

That's generally the case, but there are certain contexts when using those descriptive words can make certain things clearer.

Cis isn't exclusive to males, though. It's just a word to describe when somebody's gender and biological sex match. It usually isn't needed, but in some contexts it can be useful to distinguish when that may be unclear.

It's not intended as an insult, it's unfortunate that it's seen that way because of the contexts it can be used in, but really it's just a way to distinguish a person whose biological sex and gender are the same. Usually used in the context when talking about gender identity related things because it should make things clearer. It really shouldn't be seen as anything other than a simple descriptive word. I don't see anyone getting mad that they're labeled as straight because they didn't get a sa…
