Your experience might explain some part but I'm willing to bet, in the majority of cases, the woman would leave the marriage due to a change in lifestyle. A drop in lifestyle is something most women really despise, same with men but its easier to understand why your lifestyle worsened when it was your income that sponsored your lifestyle.

It's meant to be an exaggeration, both my points and OP's. If a man can't find work with in 3 to 6 months, expect the woman to leave. If he can find work quickly then his income doesn't drop by much, if at all, so the severance can be seen as a windfall.

I'm of a similar mind actually, I don't currently support abortions but I would support abortions if it allowed men to also go through with a paper abortion provided the man is aware and also filed for the paper abortion within due time.
