| 2 | No matter what you do you'll be exploited by people who think you should take up their mistakes. This was from an AITA post about a man who left his wife and her kid after finding out the kid wasnt his 10 years later. Somehow as a man your expected to just take the bullshit and not complain. GYOW.To step away from these definitions, the guy is the one who took part in bringing up the child. He is one of the two most important persons in the child's life. It doesn't make a difference what you call him or if he is related to the child. If you don't want to call him a dad or father that's ok, but it doesn't change his importance to the child | /r/MGTOW | 17/12/19 08:56 AM |

GYOW.I'm seperating "father" be it biological or legal from "dad" here, because the dad is the one the kid looks up to and has a bond with. I could also just call it father-figure if that helps to make it clear | /r/MGTOW | 17/12/19 07:59 AM |

GYOW.I totally agree on the second part, but if the kid only knew him as a father and bonded with him, he is the kid's dad. | /r/MGTOW | 17/12/19 07:31 AM |

GYOW.Thanks, most people here don't seem to try and think about the other side. It's a very hard situation, but i just think he should maybe meet up with the child once a month or something and definitely try to explain why he left and that it's not the child's fault. It might be hard for him and i would understand if he really couldn't stand seeing the kid again, but he should at least try | /r/MGTOW | 17/12/19 07:18 AM |

GYOW.No. I'm advocating taking care of a child that has a bond with you. He has a responsability for the child's well being that he should not ignore | /r/MGTOW | 17/12/19 07:04 AM |

GYOW.He did abandon the kid though. Even if he wasn't the biological father, he still was the kids dad. I understand that he feels hate and disgust for what the mother did and i would leave her too if i was in that situation, but like the other guy said, it's not the kids fault, but still it is going to suffer the most. It might hurt to spend time with the kid, because you are constantly reminded that your wife cheated on you, but a parent just leaving the kid behind is going to scare it emotionally.… | /r/MGTOW | 16/12/19 10:12 PM |
