Sexist nonsense. It's very common, whether man or woman, to have regrets in regards to your romantic decisions.

Yeah, read that OKCupid blog in its entirety before you cite it because while women certainly were worse at abstractly judging attractiveness, they did not spend their effort accordingly. When it came to how the sexes spent their time and effort, women had a better spread across the attractiveness ranges than men did. Why would I settle for less? Couldn't women just turn this around and ask themselves the same question? Men can fuck a thousand women in the nine months it takes for one baby to co…

Alright, so it's like my belief that people who believe in hypergamy theory (to a conventional Redpill extent, at least) are all a bunch of sad misogynistic losers?

Then prove it, actually prove it. Not anecdote or "Oh my god it's soooooo obvious", but y'know things that actually would constitute proof to a non-believer.

You absolutely do not have to? People make outlandish jokes about what they expect in a partner all the time, and some jackasses go so far as to take those jokes to heart and run with it as their dating strategy. It doesn't impact you at all, ignore it and move on with your life.

Alright, I guess after you've spent time here calling out this woman you're going to actively go look for a situation where you're calling out a man. After that you're back to equality, but remember: Don't express an opinion unless you're willing to put the work in to make it equal.

No, I reckon the deranged meninists, i.e. you all, will rage about it enough that no feminist will feel a need to.

It's actually very impressive how many shitty usages of words you managed to cram into such a short post. It's not considered sexism to take candid photographs of women. It's considered rude, it's considered creepy, but if they're out in public and you're not going to profit of their image chances are you're pretty much in the clear. I also do wanna point out that unless you count yourself and a lot of Reddit as worth absolutely nothing (which, don't get me wrong, I kinda agree), THIS is conside…

Not exactly our problem. Our problem is males performing rapes, which must be stomped out. If that inconveniences other men, maybe they should talk to their raping friends about that? That would only act as a giant deterrent for people reporting crime in general. Think about it, barring physical evidence left by a burglar what evidence is there that your house was robbed? Fucking none, you could've easily done it yourself to cash out on the attention/insurance money/sympathy sex. Besides, it's not the job of the supposed victim to investigate and prosecute, there's literally a whole mess of people employed and certified in order to do exactly that. All a supposed victim is su…

Consent already cannot be revoked retroactively, and as for the other two points that's more or less how it works right now. Affirmative consent isn't, as far as I understand it, a legal standard anywhere but it's a being encouraged as a standard nonetheless precisely because it removes ambiguity. What do you think would change if your suggestions came into play? When they say opposite things, women are believed more often. I'd love to see a source for that if you have one.
/r/MensRights31/10/19 01:21 PM
15

Do you have any suggestions? Because from where I'm sitting the ability to go to the police and report what you believe to be a crime is pretty important, and I don't think it wise to infringe on that.
/r/MensRights31/10/19 12:56 PM
18

As long as you understand that it doesn't really matter, because consent can be withdrawn at any time. To be "safe" you'd need to film the entire encounter, and I've gotta be honest if that's a criteria the amount of women willing to sleep with you will go way down.

I don't think you can call them preferences when you present them as hard pass or fail. At that point they're requirements, not preferences. As for why you might be getting pushback I don't really know. A guess is that it's partly due to presenting a requirement as a preference, but I reckon another part has to do with body acceptance. Height, or a lack of it, is a problem for most men and a frequent complaint is that women have height requirements. It isn't that they prefer taller men, it's tha…

Then you are, in practice if not in theory, choosing based on breast size. If this is turned on its head it also means you'll straight-up decline to progress with a person if their tits ain't large enough, further emphasizing that you're choosing based on breast size. Don't get me wrong here you can do whatever it is that you want, but don't kid yourself about what it is that you're doing. If you think other people should accept your view for what it is, the least you can do is to do it too.

I do agree, I was originally responding on topic. The topic was, quite clearly, about the legal responsibilities of a corporation operating out of the United States. Twitter is not legally responsible to uphold freedom of speech, as they aren't a government entity. In the post before this one, I did state: Don't get me wrong, I do acknowledge what you say regarding freedom of speech, it is larger than legislation. In the post before that one, I said: I do acknowledge the social concept of freedo…

Freedom of speech is freedom from government interference. That isn't wrong, it simply depends on what the person is talking about. If he's talking about the 1st amendment and the US situation, then he's 100% correct. As that was, in my opinion, pretty clearly what he was talking about your point serves little purpose. Especially when you consider the greater context of the chain, as his reply was in response to a comment that said (now edited to correct itself): That's not exactly how freedom o…

You do realize that in both examples you've given, the people involved wouldn't get charged with infringing on free speech? They've got no responsibility to uphold free speech, they'd get charged for the crimes they committed in trying to censor others, not for trying to censor others. I agree that there's a social concept of freedom of speech, but there's no legal responsibility to uphold it. Twitter is well within THEIR LEGAL RIGHT to censor on their platform. I do acknowledge the social conce…

Well, as far as I know your example doesn't hold up. The corporation in question would be entirely within their rights to, for example, not host that damaging information on their website. So they're free to stymie the spread of the article using LEGAL means. If they however commit burglary, or uses threats and coercion, then they're committing crimes in attempting to keep it under wraps. I ain't no expert though but as far as I know a corporation has no legal responsibility to uphold freedom of…

An abortion isn't opting out of responsibility entirely, it's still making a decision that can range from easy to difficult as all hell depending on the person, and it's not without complications. What's being suggested is a clean exit and that's not something women are offered in the case of unwanted pregnancies. With adoption both birth-parents resign responsibility post-birth, but pre-birth the woman is saddled with the pregnancy and that is something that can easily result in all manner of p…

You shouldn't force anybody to be in a position they don't want to be in. True, but it takes two individuals to create the position and I don't think it's entirely fair to allow one party to opt-out of any responsibility. I get that it's shitty and I'm really not looking to start a fight. I personally think the most pragmatic solution is to limit the stress put on unwilling parents (don't really care about the sex) by having the state step in, but that's a fine line to dance.

I do get what you're saying but I'm not arguing that point. I am saying that if it is rational for a man to be afraid of a woman due to the issue of false accusations, then it makes sense (using the same logic) for women to be afraid of men due to the issue of rape. How the different scenarios go down is irrelevant because the core idea isn't rational in the first place. The social conseuences these situations inflict on a man cant be fled from. Fair point, but I think you're being a bit biased …

I didn't inquire about his original point, but about yours. Or do you have two accounts?
/r/MensRights05/12/15 04:25 PM

A reasonable person might call it fear of outsized consequences. And women can do the same about men, except instead of "outsized" it's "immediate". How is that any less rational? That's my core concern because the dude I replied to made it out as if being raped is alright, because it's illegal.

What I said was: Where were you originally going with your point? I don't care about somebody else and their comments, but about what you said. Your original point, being this: No it isn't. Not even close. One of them is highly illegal. One of them 100% legal. Or where it isn't, it is 0% prosecuted. In response to: Being afraid of women for that reason is like a woman being afraid of all men because men have the physical power to rape the average woman. I have no idea what you're talking about. First of all, what vengeful ex, what corrupt family court system? Second of all: What the fuck, mate? The original issue is that if you're afraid of women because they can accuse you of rape then it makes sense for women to be afraid of men due to the possibility of being raped. There literally is no point of discussion to be had here, unless you wanna argue there's more false accusations than there are rapes in the first place. Other than that you're si…

As I said, there's /r/OneY, but such a thing is just not really needed on Reddit, thus the low popularity. I kinda agree that it was a controversial move to make /r/TwoXChromosomes a default, but I can't really call it discriminatory. /r/TwoXChromosomes is a clear outlier. I agree, but that doesn't make it bad based on that alone. I'm sorry, /r/TwoXChromosomes isn't about feminism or anything to do with an interest group, it's a subreddit that caters to a specific gender. I feel that attempts to…

Yeah, /r/TwoXChromosomes isn't about feminism or some such, it's just a subreddit that caters to women. Now you could argue it is "unfair" to not have such a subreddit from a male perspective on the list, but it wouldn't be very hard to argue that a lot of the content on Reddit is already very male dominated. The subreddit that is closest to mirror /r/TwoXChromosomes is /r/OneY, and it's VERY small.

When she no longer was at the site of the accident, yeah. How can you make the argument that she "intentionally left the scene of an accident" when she didn't even know it was an accident? Later, when she found out, yeah I agree, but that wasn't what you were saying.
/r/MensRights01/02/14 04:56 PM

Why would I consider something that didn't happen? No matter what else, he did a crime. If you want to argue about the psychological state and some such, that's fine, but that's not what /u/Springy said.

Would it be better if it were 3 children? That was an accident, that's painfully obvious. Any and all crimes that came after were not the accident themselves but rather because of the accident. I didn't even touch on that, just on what you were saying.
/r/MensRights01/02/14 04:52 PM

Oh, really? That to me means you're guessing and hoping you're right. The legal system is complex, and while there is definitive research being made that may suggest gender bias in criminal court, you can't make such a statement and hope to coast on by. I ask again: Do you have anything to support your claim that, assuming the hit and run alone (no premeditated tampering with evidence), it would send a man to prison? This is also an incredibly simple way of looking at it. Plea deals happen, ther…

She drove away because she didn't know, at the time, that an accident had taken place. The crime occurred separate of the accident in that they tried to cover it up. And I don't "know damned well" that a man would have received harsher punishing for this (the accident, not the crime of covering it up). Do you have anything at all to support that statement?
/r/MensRights01/02/14 03:54 PM
1

That's just not how it works, and could you please stop supporting this type of statement? Just to make a clear point with easily available precedence: A Hit and Run. An accident can be really awful but as long as it remains an accident, you PROBABLY won't be sent to prison over it. This is assuming that no law-breaking lead up to the accident, but rather that shit simply happened. Take a car hitting a man on a bike, for example. Now, what becomes a crime is if you go "Shit, I better leave". So …

You'd be hard pressed to argue intent in this situation. She didn't even know it was an accident until later, which is why there's so much of a hubbub. I don't think it is that hard to plead a lack of knowing in this case, since children, by all accounts, wouldn't be expected to be playing in a pile of leaves on a road. The only clear-cut criminal offense was covering up the evidence. The rest was a tragic accident.
/r/MensRights01/02/14 03:47 PM
2

No, fuck this. Even if the woman got too light a sentencing, the boyfriend is still responsible for covering up a crime. He's not "guilty of having a penis", he's guilty of attempting to cover up a crime. I love how gender focused people can get on topics like this. It's like any sense goes flying out the window just so that they can focus on what the persons have between their legs.
/r/MensRights01/02/14 03:43 PM

Quite easily? I mean shit, we don't know the specifics. There's also something that few people in this thread seems to be understanding: The only clear-cut crime that occurred was the removal of evidence. Anything besides that was negligent and accidental. I'm by far clued in on the delicate aspects of law, but to me if you've got a situation with 3 different events: The accident, the perpetrator being informed of being responsible of the accident, and the decision to remove evidence linking her…

I'm speaking purely in terms of attire, not personality. Besides, remember that women, just like guys, want to conform to fit in with the group. It makes you very unpopular to complain about big exposed tits in the company of young men.

There's a difference in a sexualized character and an attractive character, though. I'm a man, but I must say I got something of an issue with the amount of "sexual" female characters. Attractive men like Shepard (I know this has been used as an example before) are, in my book at least, not sexualized. That's just an attractive person; Fair enough. This is insane. If you're going to invent different rules of engagement then that's fine and dandy, but then so can I. Who would yo bet on? Well I do know that the bystander effect has happened in reverse, or in similar situations: On June 16, 2008, on a country road outside Turlock, California, friends, family and strangers, including a volunteer fire chief, stood by as Sergio Aguiar methodically stomped his two-year-old son Axel Casian to death,[30] explaining in a calm voice that he "had to get the demons out" of the boy. I didn't say you said it. I said I presented a scenario in which your logic dies. Delayed or not delayed, the line of thought is broken, so stop trying to save yourself by trying to make me wrong. Let's ignore that I said delayed and the same argument still holds: There's absolutely no reason to assign money to specific tasks like you are suggesting. If the budget is $1000 USD, it is $1000 USD.
/r/MensRights23/08/13 08:37 PM

Hokay, let's say I agree with you. The important part is that even if you're right with me creating a scenario, you're still wrong in your assessment. The child support money is no different than any other imagined 500 dollars the mother may posses. If she spends the child support money on shoes and 500 out of her own pocket still equals the exact same expenditure on the child. There's no two separate pools of money when it comes to issues like this, or if there is it needs to be handled expertly. Yes. I think if a man falsely accused a lesbian of raping him, her life would not be too upset by it. Naturally. I know it is a shit situation, but that's not really one that'll change, and it is not because of feminism, but I'm sure you're going to argue that it is. Cause it's relevant. I suppose it is, but a lack of feminism should in no way change how we handle a rape accusation on a legal level. On the scale that this is, in a group of friends, that'll never change. Of course he could. He'd experience less success with it, though, and I'm not denying that. There are other avenues of paypack, though, that can be equally as damaging. More importantly, and I feel it is a point that needs consideration: The police is RESPONSIBLE for taking shit like this seriously. The issue becomes when society at large thinks an accusation means guilty and doesn't allow for due process. I mean, nuts people be nuts, why make this about sexism/feminism when it's just a sad fucking person being a dick? Not trying to say that what she's doing is in any way justified or less wrong, just applying perspective to draw away thought from this mindless "THIS IS FEMINIST LOGIC HERP DERP" bullshit that's going on. EDIT: For crying out loud. This is about an ex that wanted revenge on the guy who did …

Equality isn't forced political correctness, but I suppose we don't give a shit about that and instead joke and generalize in the comments?

There's not many ways I can read that, but feel free to think the error is on my side and bring up an irrelevant point that's got nothing to do with how we communicate, but rather everything to do with a news station wanting viewers.

Oh yeah, the MRA's are showing how much better than those dirty feminists they are by insulting me for having the opposing opinion. To be quite frank, /r/MensRights are about as bad as some feminist groups in terms of "openness" and security with itself.

I'm not intelligent, so there's really nothing odd about it at all.

Not the same, and the fact that you think it is leads me to believe you don't even know what the problem is.

That's the simple view to take, I suppose.

Do you really believe this? Do you really believe that you can sit here and generalize feminists as a whole and say what they, as a whole, know and don't know? Even if they do "hate men" they probably hate the same men I hate, as a man: The men that abuse women, the men that take freedoms they don't have because they are believe themselves superior. Those men I hate perfectly fine. Just like I hate the women that do the same thing. You need to take a step back and realize exactly what you are do…

What? I wanted to end the discussion because I feel it ignores far too many aspects to be fruitful. That's all. You're the one making the assumptions about me, so what do you want? Here's the thing; Most feminists are normal people. They're not out screaming or protesting naked. They're not hating men. They're regular people that want equality, just like MRA's. Extremists don't represent an entire movement. If they absorb some propaganda in the process then gratulations, they're human. Unless I'…

You LITERALLY can't fix it, though. As long as people are allowed to speak their mind, eventually someone convincing enough is going to do so and people will then listen. How do you go about fixing it? I suppose through increased education and more layers of security, but that's hardly an MRA issue. And no matter what you say, you did portray feminists poorly in your post. If that was unintentional or not is irrelevant, it's what you did.
/r/MensRights09/02/13 07:23 PM

The parts that "hate men" are the ones smearing men. I literally haven't encountered anyone that I feel "hates men" outside of some people that I would describe as loonies. Hating men is about as sane as hating women, and there's plenty of men that entertain that practice, so I suppose what they are doing is just equalizing the scoreboard.
/r/MensRights09/02/13 06:21 PM
-4

You can't stop people from being loonies, and you can't stop people from listening. There's no good in trying to fix that which you can't, literally. As a fun thought experiment, ask the men and women in your life, how many men and women they know are rapists, or have raped/taken sexual advantage of another person. Is it something they know, or something they 'feel is true'. I think some of the answers will surprise you. Why would it? Same with being a men's rights activist. Go tell your feminis…

I do not think you'd act that different if put in her shoes, though.
/r/MensRights09/02/13 06:06 PM

How's that relevant? The vast majority of rapists being men doesn't mean the vast majority of men are rapists; I can guarantee that most of the educated western world knows this (Read: Most people worth listening to, unless you enjoy getting worked up). Like it or not, women are at a disadvantage when it comes to rape and domestic violence due to biology, and it's a problem. Don't get offended because parts of our gender can't behave. I will however not deny that parts of the feminist movement (…

Alternative: Might be that most of the world realizes it ain't worth paying much thought. I can call all women over-zealous crazies that marry for money, don't make it true though.

Is any person worth his or her salt actually doing that though, or just the vocal loonies?
/r/MensRights09/02/13 02:52 PM

Well you didn't really make it a hard leap to make. I may be the minority, but I tend to hold the people responsible responsible. "Excuses" such as "my girlfriend/Videogame/favorite movie/Feminist movement made me do it" aren't constructive. While I do agree and would say there's a lot of improvement to be made, they are not the ones responsible if someone goes out and commits a crime.

It's not an obvious comparison. We as humans hasn't changed, so naturally the mentality is going to be quite similar, but that's pretty much where the comparison ends. Your second point isn't in regards to rape, or even liars, but in regards to peoples reactions and how much faith they put in a person. You can lie about more things than one, I've seen it happen too, and it's very easy to do so. Easier for some than others, yeah, but I thought the point was rather strictly to the botched statisti…

Well then, as you put it; I don't want to sound like too much of a dick, but enjoy never getting anything done. Think about what you can fix, and then about what you can't. "The System" is an actual thing. It got rules, regulations and a process. It can be critiqued, and improved as a result. Change won't come easy, but it's achievable. Mob justice won't go away as long as there's something to rile one up, and it's not isolated to rape. A mob can be created through fear, the promise of great suc…

Then stick to disproving those statistics rather than introducing elements of a different nature. And you may not like it, but they're free to release bullshit statistics. They're far from the only ones doing it, and they're in no way responsible for a violent man being violent.
/r/MensRights08/01/13 05:49 PM

Not to be an offensive cunt or anything, but holy shit that's dumb. Are you seriously trying to blame feminists for creating violent behavior? Or are you blaming them for influencing the mentality in such a way that average "good kids" feel forced to bash someones skull in with a baseball bat? Either one is dumb. Violent people will be violent. Liars will be liars. These are not new things, and while they're bad as all hell they're not the fault of feminist movements. These things were here long…

Looking at it like that, yes, it's the same. Difference is that right now we got a system to turn to. It's imperfect and does wrong, but it's the best we've got. The people that assault a supposed rapist based on hearsay alone are the problem, far more so than the liar (although he or she is not absolved of responsibility either). My main gripe is that it doesn't relate to what he was trying to accomplish with his post. His post was to point out the flaws in a statistic released, not to start a …

I agree with you. But making the accusation in a non-official sense, such as lying to serve ones motives, is a different thing altogether. We can make it a better process for rape victims, and the falsely accused, all at the same time. I'm not the man to make it work, or even think of the specifics, as it is something "the system" will have to do. Our mentality of taking the word of a friend over that of someone we may already dislike is not going anywhere, and violent people will be violent unt…

This is not not quite the same as a witchcraft accusation, for far more reasons than one, so I'm not going to comment until I know why it was compared. The issue isn't that they lied, or that they were believed, the issue with these two cases is that some jackasses saw fit to act on it. I don't mean to remove responsibility from the liars, however, but it would never be an issue if people didn't go berserk because of it. I feel that those two cases you linked undermines any serious effort of you…

Since the two men you posted there weren't in fact confronted by the system, but rather by vigilantes, wouldn't you agree that it's completely useless? People have killed people for many reasons, a girl screaming she was raped is just one of those reasons. Stick to your points, don't try to battle the human condition.

Yes and there's legal ramifications for delivering a beating, whether it's towards a woman or man. Are you seriously complaining that one interest group don't do it all? No, violence towards women isn't just about the random crap you encounter out after midnight but also systematic violence at home, and so on. That and other topics are what these interest groups deal with. If you want to deal with violence against men, or against small men, go start your own group. No group can or should do it a…

You're missing the point. Do you know why it is more frowned up for a grown man to hit a child than it is for a grown man to hit another grown man? Because the child is at a point of weakness by comparison. It's like kicking a grounded opponent, you don't do it. Women are at a disadvantage compared to most men, assuming averages, and that is a point of significance. It does impact the balance of power in our society, because we're not that far removed from the primal instinct of lifting people b…

I disagree with this mentality. No group is.. intelligent and big enough to solve all issues, so what you got is a bunch of interest groups. Either it's black rights (instead of human rights, for example) or women rights groups that do their thing. It doesn't mean they're against removing violence all together, it just means they're not encompassing enough to do it all. Secondly I feel it is important to mention that due to biology, your average woman is going to be physically weaker than your a…

My comments lately are like this, yeah. I'm a little bit more frustrated than usual and it shows, but I'll be back to being a positive person capable of conducting a discussion any day now. Also; Hilarious misread. Stay in school, because as is you suck at it.

I didn't really make a mistake. Your statement was quite ignorant in more ways than one, and particularly so because you can't "bitch and moan" your way through a legal process stretching three years. Also; the comparison is not the same. Custody isn't the same as rape charges. It is known that women often start from a better position when it comes to custody hearings and proceedings, but that doesn't mean they do when it comes to rape.
/r/MensRights23/11/12 02:03 PM

Well here's the thing; it wouldn't help. She'd be punished, yeah, but it would send the message to others in a similar situation to keep quiet. I would rather see her go free than have him stay in prison because she's too scared to come clean.

Let's leave it at that then. I'm sorry for being too hostile. Have a good life and whatnot.

Yeah, I do too. I haven't lost sympathy for either side, but this is /r/mensrights and all that I am doing is "informing" some of the fact that injustices go both ways, because it seems far too forgotten sometimes.

What do you think happens more?
/r/MensRights23/11/12 01:43 PM

Yeah that would be a big post. I'll just be a judgmental cunt to keep it short: Don't ever turn any debate into Us Vs Them. That's what you did by "insulting" women in general, and that's a really toxic thing to do because it taints any debate or discussion.
/r/MensRights23/11/12 01:39 PM

Actually you sort of did. I am sorry though, I may have assumed too much about what you were saying, I shouldn't have replied in the manner I did. Actually, fuck that. You're the dickwad that insulted.

Didn't say it did. I just brought perspective. Go and read the rest of the thread and you'll notice a disgusting lack of it. Fact of the matter is this: The system sucks for both parties, so it is really annoying to see fucking adults act like it doesn't.

/r/MensRights23/11/12 12:53 PM

Yeah, don't make assumptions. It can be six thousand or it can be zero, speculating and guessing on this in order to further your point will do nothing but undermine your stance as a sensible fucking individual.
/r/MensRights23/11/12 12:52 PM

Yeah, on the other side of the "fence" there's an enormous group of women who's had to sit there and listen as their rapist gets a "not guilty" verdict. Life sucks, get over it.
