You challenge it in court, not on the scene. Why do people think cops are to be argued with? They don't operate without impunity, but there in the moment they are the ones with the authority. Fighting and arguing with them almost always complicates the initial issue, when keeping a level-head and respectful demeanor will make your case all that more presentable in court.

This isn't PPD, this is a violation of civil rights. They attempted to illegally detain a law student while waiting for drug dogs to show up (which found nothing when they finally did), and when she let them know that she knew her rights and wouldn't stand for it, they assaulted her.
