I've seen kind, nice and lovely people with a pure heart get bullied by a certain group consistantly for months unprovoked. When they start developing a dislike to that group ( very reasonable thing) they then get bullied for not liking the very people who have bullied them and the cycle continues. I can't stand women who bully innocent men because they feel they get a pass to be rude because they are a woman. It's not acceptable to bully anyone. It also not aceptable to side eye and act passive…

Women just need to ask. Saying hi wouldn't be enough as that can easily be confused with a friendly hi.

In Japan. It's women who gives chocolates to the men on Valentines Day. And then vice versa a month later.

Yeah comedians should have a free pass to say what ever they want no matter how rude and insensitive it is.

And when I talk about this issue I get down voted because people don't want to accept it or realise that this is a problem. Edit: It's both men and women that can create this problem.

Huh? What? Got what? Where you pulled that out from? Society is generally the practices and thoughts we have somewhat have / someone has deemed to be the status quo whether we agree or not and the majority of the world is male orientated/ dominated/ governed. Especially in these countries. So by your logic it's men who are killing these people.

No it doesn't, you also can't disregard different cultural expectations and practices like it's nothing and doesn't have any affect on it.

Edit: wow people... way to go not actually solving the issue and doing the same thing that you complain about and circle jerking. Thought you guy were smarter than that.

It also society and culture that could be the reason why more men are out protesting and getting into trouble more. You shouldn't diminish and underestimate womens involement.

Maybe that person thought reading books was not hyper masculine and therefore must be feminine. Only a person who is very insecure would say that. Puting other people down to make themselves feel better and mightier is absolute shitty of a person.

It definitely is cultural.

I this annoys me so much as I actually get insulted and harassed by strangers for simply showing some happiness and/or enthusiasm for something. Do you want me to be angry instead? Nooope. Because then I will be looked at like an arsehole.

Wtf, what kind of therapist is she? F**king terrible. Glad you left. I have experienced a few terrible psychologists and you'll be surprised how ignorant some of the are.

I always kinda felt bad how I am quite guarded as a person with who I open up to. I only do that because I am preventing myself from being more hurt from betrayal. It's become something I do unconsciously.

I my case, it was sharing stuff with other people in general, usually men where I felt alone.

Maybe they don't have anymore room to put a seperate family and so had to use one of the toilets and just happen to pick the mens room?

This is why we have to address the issue with this. Most men don't feel they can express their dismay and that they're feeling sad and depressed because it's not seen as manly. That is why a lot tends to be bottled up and fester which is the reasons why a lot of people explode. In fact most of the hurt and pain I received in my life have been from other men putting each other down if you aren't aparently a "hyper masculine" person. There seem to be a pissing game that a lot of men tend to do to …

Or how about we focus on both.

All about intent. If doing it out of common decency then its fine but doing it because you think the persons is too weak and fragile to do it themselves when they can( therefore being condecending) is not.

I've experienced differently. I've had both men and women ignore, insult, and look at me in disgust and make fun of me for showing some emotion, mostly men though. I had no support whatsoever and had to learn to deal with my problems myself because if I mentioned them I would be deemed weak and unmanly somehow. Even showing happiness. Which just goes to show that just because you haven't experienced it doesn't mean it doesn't happen at all. We are definitely getting better over the years.

It's saying if you see something thats not right, why not do something about it and stop it? isn't being a protector and looking out for each other a masculine thing? And because Gillette is primarily a mens brand that sells mens products, Of course they are going to focus on men. These issues happen to both sexes. Would a brand that primarily marketed to men going to talk about women 24/7?

Its not shaming masculinity. They never said that.

Gillete posted an ad saying we can a be better and please don't harass and bully people. If you don't already then thats great it wasn't directed at you.

An ad telling some men who so display these acts to be better humans and not be dickheads is upsetting you? If you aren't a dickhead then you should know it isn't directed at you. I do think they should have done it a different way to avoid misunderstandment (which is evident everwhere) But their message was " lets treat each other with respect and adress the issues we conveniently ignore.

Toxic femininity has already been addressed years ago when women would tell other women to stay in the kitchen, don't talk unless spoken too and other aspects of femininity that were toxic. The movie mean girls I think, is a good representation. Plenty think that bullying is a form of aggression and dominance which some would asociate with musculinity. Also being told to never show emotion, be stone cold can lead to apathy and lack of empathy and compasion and we all know what bottling up emotio…
