Oh, but when a man wants to take responsibility, like being in a child's life, or trying to gain custody when he feels the mother isn't fit to parent, I imagine she thinks that's over stepping boundaries and all the man did was squirt some semen and the woman actually carries the child, ergo all the choices regarding the childs life belong to her. I could be misrepresenting her position but I hear that one a lot.

Of 300 million extimated totally population? Yeah that's super small. I didn't even check on the sample size before this comment.

Doesn't our FAQ specifically say we're not necessarily at war with or against feminism? Part of feminisms issue is a lack of identity within the movement, which in turn means there's people who identify as feminist with varying degrees of support for mens issues, even though admittedly feminism isn't a movement for men and most feminists are fine to not treat it that way. Still, my point being we only stand to lose support and sympathy if we bare our teeth and lash out at anyone who identifies w…

Hey, there's no need for that here. The FAQ and multiple places on this sub declare support for trans men, so I should hope transphobia isn't allowed here. Plus even if you don't care and are allowed to have you opinions on Contrapoints, posts like yours are 100% the posts critics of our sub will cherry pick in order to decry us as hateful. Plus Contra currently looks more feminine than some biological women I've seen and that's just the facts.

Is anybody still talking about the Ghostbusters reboot anymore? Even more pressing, how is this even remotely a men's issue? Posts like this clutter the sub and are the kind of things that make others not take us seriously. Downvote.

This. I'm a pretty meek and timid (but not little) guy, and thanks to the place I live, I'm can't say I've really felt the brunt of the "gay experience" some people have to put up with. Where I live I'd feel pretty safe going on dates, kissing a guy in public, etc., but if someone has the gall to tell me I'm not doing the being gay right when the whole point of the push for equality was our unfiltered self expression as who we are, I'm throwing hands with that stupid mofo.

Ouch. It's not that I don't believe it, but do you have a source for the rape victim thing? Might be useful in convincing others not to go to that sub. As for the feminism note, I'll paste what I said to someone else in this sub. "Yeah, I notice that. I said diverse viewpoints because I don't mean their brand of diverse, more a ride range of thoughtful ideas and the stuff that makes me want to bang my head against a wall. It's probably worth saying that I've been pretty outspoken before about ho…

Yeah, I notice that. I said diverse viewpoints because I don't mean their brand of diverse, more a ride range of thoughtful ideas and the stuff that makes me want to bang my head against a wall. It's probably worth saying that I've been pretty outspoken before about how I try not to discount anybodies point of view just because they say they're a feminist, in fact I try to offer most all groups that courtesy. Someone with really wrong ideas can still say something right and to ignore that risks …

That's also a good option, too, but just to be clear the scenario I described was what I first heard was what people were excited to use this emoji for. Just so it's clear, in that case I support shaming jerks if they're being jerks to people (jerks of any gender), but I can't get behind something that reads like a fervent excitement to shame men wantonly because that's something the world needs more of.

I mean, to be completely fair I don't support any guy who sends unsolicited dick pics to women, and in that case I can laugh at this emoji, but still screw vice for making it sound like we need ways to shame men just because.

Well, I could answer, but some might not like it... I'm bisexual, I have an out as it were. I pretty much act as a gay man 24/7, and choose to date males. As someone else said, I believe in the good of all people, I know there are good women out there. They're my friends and family. Still, times are tough for guys and it's really easy to screw over a guy who misjudged a seemingly good woman who turned out to be not so good if something bad happens. If the relationship sours, if she doesn't want …

Eh, more accepting than it was before. I know how you mean, tough I'd argue it largely depends on context. In general most people don't go out of their way to talk about sex unless usually among friends. On porn, I think it's pretty much an obvious statement these days that most people watch or have watched porn. If you asked them and they were honest, the average person would say they've consumed porn. The idea that it's embarrassing to talk about seems largely a meme these days, like "I won't …

Big oof. I'm with others here, this sounds like fringe conspiracy and whining, and this sub can be used for more important matter. We should have some quality control here.

Undoubtedly it is, but I gotta hand it to u/69beefboy that the wide acceptance of porn has gotta be at least in part due to the sexual revolution. If we were as prudish about sex as we were before the revolution, porn wouldn't be as widespread (That's not to say it wouldn't exist, but it would bre mote on the fringes than it currently is. God knows Pornhub couldn't act like your wacky uncle on Twitter.). For better or for worse, consumption of porn is most likely a byproduct of the sexual revolu…

Hey, no worries. I appreciate you taking it well. We do good to look out for what's being posted here. One of the things I appreciate on this sub is that harsh reactions usually don't stay up long before somebody calls them out. It shows the diversity of thought here and it proves the strawman narrative that everyone who posts here is just an angry woman hater wrong. Granted, as mentioned in a different comment in this thread some people would still quote your old comment in bad faith and claim …

Oh, the irony. So, context: I'm not a feminist, and I initially picked the name years ago when I was an edgeboi trying to go out of my way to piss off feminists. The "cis male" in my name isn't me saying "Sorry for being an awful white guy". It was initially me saying "I'm the thing feminists hate, a cis white guy. This'll piss people off that I'm proud of it.". I don't go out of my way to piss people off now, but I haven't made a different account to change my name as I haven't had a particular…

We could probably do to keep the slurs to a minimum here. That doesn't reflect well on us. Consider whether you'd be sympathetic to someone who would label you "some MRA dick", regardless of whether anything else they say is reasonable, truthful, or valid. If there isn't a rule on this thread about needless insults, perhaps there should be, but that's not my call.

Hey, let's be reasonable here. I get where you're coming from, but discounting the possibility that someone could say something that's true on account of what group they're associated with only serves to narrow our own horizons. I don't remember where it's said, but I believe one of the sidebar links of this sub says that the Men's Rights movement isn't inherently against feminism, just some of it's modern philosophies, and indeed common ground isn't out of the question, and we'd do good to reme…

It's true that the sequence with the rapper seems to be edited out, and shame on Gillette for doing so (along with this whole travesty of an ad, of course.), however saying that "42 out of 42 of the antagonists are white" isn't entirely accurate. There is a black man acting the npc role later on when echoing a monotone "boys will be boys", making him at least one black man who's part of the problem. Make sure we're all doing the most research we can do, it looks bad when we miss stuff like that.…

Cool, then I'll be sure to catch it on streaming devices in a showing isn't made available. I can't host a showing myself because I'm super broke.

I'm currently looking for a place to view this. If a screening were to come to Oregon, USA, that'd be great. Does anyone know if there would be plans to do a DVD release at some point?
