I'm a woman, and despise feminism in 2018Interesting POV. One point, I don't think patriarchy means 'men are bad in every way you put it.' That's not necessarily correct. In my view and experience, patriarchy is more about the pervasive dissing, devaluing and stomping out traits that are more yin/receptive/feminine in men AND women to the extent we don't even SEE it anymore. It seems normal. I love men and think patriarchal power structures are damaging. I also saw how hurt my male family members were inside by feeling obliged to stuff… | /r/MensRights | 21/08/18 12:18 PM
I'm a woman, and despise feminism in 2018Thank you for your heroism and honesty. It is appreciated. Yeah, in our relationships if we can partner, respect each other and agree what each of us choose to do and not do, fantastic. This can vary from relationship to relationship. In our case, I make 2x as much as my partner, do the dinner and some cleaning, he does the dishes, trash and breakfast/coffee. In a few years I'll change career and he will make more. I so value that partnership. Prior relationship was just less mature, guy was muc… | /r/MensRights | 21/08/18 11:51 AM

I'm a woman, and despise feminism in 2018Very interesting question indeed! Assumedly because having a son means you love at least one male in your life :) Sure, a lot of women feel wounded by men, and react immaturely. But it's also totally possible to just be afraid of men on some level and be anti-feminist because you know it will get you brownie points from your family, partner, boss, whatever. I think women, especially women who have been hurt or let down by men, need to learn that some men are mature and some men are immature; avo… | /r/MensRights | 21/08/18 11:14 AM
I'm a woman, and despise feminism in 2018Well, let's think about it ... is the wolf whistle, cat call, 'hey baby you like nice' etc. sexual or non-sexual? Probably sexual. And assumedly a man is just offering his opinion, appreciation, etc. rather than actually starting an act which could lead to a real pursuit. So the word sexual isn't the issue then, it's 'assault.' What is a better term ... ? Sexual ... what? Appreciation? Commentary? Judgement? Would be curious to know actually | /r/MensRights | 21/08/18 11:04 AM
I'm a woman, and despise feminism in 2018It's an interesting point. Many say masculinity is about providing and protecting, and femininity is about nurturing and receiving. The problem comes, perhaps, when a woman is with a man, fathered by a man, or part of a society where men don't provide or meet needs. Or, the men around are immature, violent, lazy, incapable, etc. Then what do you do, go with your needs unmet? So you go get them yourself. Sometimes, you have to compete with men to do this. It makes them feel wierd, but the REAL tr… | /r/MensRights | 21/08/18 10:53 AM
