Having solid boundaries, knowing what you want, and not settling for someone “good enough” could have saved me from 7.5 years of emotional abuse. They say leave at the first sign of major red flags and I wish this advice existed in 2017. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Bc once I ignored the first red flags I just accepted the ones that came after. Now if I decide to date in the future I’m sticking to preserving my peace and not just pairing up bc I am attracted to them and I’m just lonely. Nope.

I guess it really does depend on the type of person you’re attracted to. I like manly nerds so dating in Philadelphia was easier for me. I’d like to think I made a lot of matches in Chicago is bc I like big cities and brainy men.

You think so? Hmm. Maybe I’d been swayed too much by tv shows haha. I did read somewhere that the profession is known for high rates of infidelity.

Hmm. I don’t work directly in health care (I’m a social worker) so I’m not 100% sure how that dynamic would even work. Maybe I’ve been swayed by too many medical shows and what is on social media haha.

Lovely! Good luck. ☺️ My best friend is a physician. We’ve been through a lot together.

I feel like healthcare is a calling, you gotta do it for the right reason. Especially since it takes so much schooling to do it.

If you’re a man, healthcare haha. Absolutely the odds are in your favor. But getting there, and the work you do, doesn’t make it worth it to me. Edit: I’d also think firefighters. Like, they are real life heroes, you have to be physically fit, and also you’re spending so much time at the fire station it’s easy to have a tryst. But again I’d love it if someone proved me wrong on this. I do know I feel a certain kind of way when I see firefighters out there in the world. Plus I drank the koolaid w…

I’ve been all over the country. NOT LA. Im from there and there are too many unserious people. Probably not the pacific NW either (people can be pretty unfriendly unless you have an established circle). Maybe San Diego? If you’re a woman and you like tech bros, the San Francisco Bay Area… but it’s very pricey. I got a lot of good bumble matches in Chicago. Compared to when I was dating in LA, I had a lot of good dating experiences in Philadelphia. Good luck! Once you move, let’s compare data hah…

As a woman something like this would be my worst nightmare. I’ve online dated for a total of a year and a half so it’s not a super long amount of time— I am so so glad this hasn’t happened to me. The last time I online dated was 8 years ago and I’m not even gonna take risks if I decide to do it again. Before any first date in person I am requiring a FaceTime call. Yeah maybe it’s weird but I won’t accept anything less. If they say no, then no date simple as that. It’s so easy to hop on a video c…

Was gonna say this my former roomie met her husband like the first day she joined haha. But some people are just lucky like that.

Nah just ask her out. I’m a huge nerd so being asked out at a coffee shop, a bookstore, comiccons, board game stores, events, stuff like that is cool. You sound youngish, it takes practice. Case in point: when I was in grad school, I was in a coffee shop trying to study. The seat across the corner from me was empty. A nice fellow offered to throw my cup away and then sat down at that corner seat. Alls I asked was “are you a grad student?” (I could tell by how we dressed 😂). And we talked for lik…

Hm! Ah I wish I could help, but I can only speak from my (cis bi woman) pov. 😕 for a person like me, wit is always a good place to start. I find wittiness very charming. Good banter = chefs kiss.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
