I know it's kinda strange, but I don't even listen to music anymore. I used to listen to music most of the time I wasn't actively doing something - driving, playing games, monotonous work. But I started studying Spanish and found I could use the time driving to practice speaking Spanish, which made me think about all the down time I have where I could study/think about other things. Since then I use down time to think about productive stuff. Dunno, but it's working for me.
