At one point the word diversity wasn’t a euphemism but today it is. It’s been taken over by postmodernist academics to mean destroying white male hegemony as opposed to meaning a diversity of backgrounds, colors, perspectives. Hopefully the pendulum will swing back sometime.

I don’t understand what point(s) you’re trying to make. But as for the pivotal survey that made its way into society as that 1 in 3 figure, there are tons of problems with it, the most reprehensible of which is the sampling method: among other sampling mistakes, it was sent to tens of thousands of college students by email with a self-selection of participation. Both figures are total garbage. I teach quant research and use the “one third of all college girls will be sexually assaulted” stat as an example of horrifyingly flawed methodology that gets promulgated in society to further an agenda. There are so many problems with that figure it would take a full essay to explain why it’s worthless.
