I dunno, I kinda stand with Bell Hooks view on love with men. Men talk about it, write about it, create for it - because we receive it. Men have a better understanding of love because women are better givers of love.

Not true and we see this throughout a lot of history, pretty sure the Taj Mahal and other enormous structures were made as declarations of love. What we have now is options, too fuckin many of them. If you got into an argument with your wife in the 1800s, you would go outside and work - spend time apart, think, and work together because thats all you had. Now its a fight happens, i can do better, download app, 300 potential suiters at my fingertips.

I think your title is confusing, but I agree with the sentiment. Thats how I date. That being said, people are autonomous beings who will live the way they choose, not really up to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 03:05 PM

Do any of you ever step outside and look around? Average people dating average people in just about every direction you look.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 11:18 AM

I'm going to be honest I don't know what that means
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/25 09:25 AM

I'm a fella and i'd be stoked if I found a partner who earned big buxx.

A few things: 2 polar experiences can both have downsides. You don't need to mention the pity olympics or anything, just that the ratio of men to women on the app heeds heavily in their favour. I'm not trying to project or diagnose here. But this whole thing wreaks of nice guy behaviour/mentality, I don't mean that as an insult more of a you might wanna check it out. I have been guilty of it in the past and it kinda keep you sad. I will never understand the argument that either gender is suppose…

"On one side, you hear the argument that many men can’t get women because they watch porn" I have never heard this argument. The closest would be, porn enables men to not seek out partners like you mentioned in the latter. I don't think it's cyclical, I think both can happen at the same time. I think its bad mostly in young men who's first exposure to sex is through porn though

No, but you also don't cook all day everyday. You shouldn't need to clean all day every day. Just because a day is spent doing things that I could otherwise outsource and pay somebody to do - doesn't make it a job.

I can pay a taxi driver to drive me around, but i don't consider driving myself around a job.

It's a huge responsibility for sure, more demanding and important than a job - but its not a job. If it was you could quit.

No vacation from cutting grass Same thing Thats the thing that it is, like saying yard work is like yard work. Nobody is arguing that it isn't stressful and exhausting, but its not a job its a responsibility.

I think the thing that i've learned to understand is that the red flags the men (or other people in general) are committing/guilty of are also not learned behaviours from guides/PUA channels and content. Most of these needy followed by avoidant behaviours and red flags aren't something people do in order to trick you, if anything they're probably tricking themselves. They're not saying "i love you" because they mean it, they're saying it because they want you to say it/display it back to satisfy…

"They tell you what you want to hear such as they love you, they can't live without you, your their heart and soul, they can't stop thinking about you ect within a week of meeting you, buy you gifts, food, etc" There you go, theres your red flag list. But I also think you need to step back and realise emotional engagement is what your algorithm is aiming for - funny/warm content you like gives you a small emotional response, but content that angers you/triggers you will drive far more of an emot…

"I’ve seen this quite a lot lately people breaking up over pet peeves instead of deal breakers going back on the apps seeing grass isn’t greener then crawling back with an Ex" I think this is probably has a lot to do with it. Dating apps fuel grass is greener mentality, as does social media and mainstream media. Relationships aren't easy, doesn't mean they should be hard. But once the excitement of a new relationship fades and you realise your both two emotionally wounded people who satiated eac…

I think it would depend on the person's attachment style. Anxiously attached people tend to like obsessive partners because it validates them and makes them feel worth. Not a good thing but yeah, I don't think it's gender specific.

In my opinion, if you're not blue collar (working in infrastructure) then you're the absolute alpha ally of raw capitalism pushed to its most nightmarish conclusion.

/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/25 08:06 AM

Not that there's anything wrong with manual labour - but not needing to work that sort of field is tied with what I just said about excelling in education and the workforce.

In 5-10 years it will be even less, women are excelling in the workforce and universities as men fall behind

I would think the type of woman you are talking about by far the minority. But most women I know would far prefer the independence of their own income than rely on anyone else.

I dunno, I feel like your argument and idea of a cis-het relationship is straight out of the 50s. I've been in love twice, neither times was I doing those things for my partner.

I'll repeat, it was satire. "You keep avoiding defending your claim of misogyny," No i'm not. Where? How? By saying the thing you said was unrelated? I don't think nature is misogynistic - and I don't think its misogynistic that men approach women more often than the other way around, I think its nature.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/25 01:05 AM
3

Sure, but we can't escape nature.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/25 12:38 AM

Although true, you are still making an argument that isn't relevant to anything being discussed.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/25 12:27 AM

Yes, it was satire. Original post says the idea of men needing to court women and not the other way around is driven by misogyny. I'm saying thats how it is in nature.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/25 12:20 AM
2

Ok but why are you saying this? Whats it got to do with the subject of the original post?

what are you asking/saying?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/25 12:10 AM

What do you mean? We are animals. The act of the male pursuing and courting a woman is part of nature. I wouldn't say its an expectation but its certainly normal, and normal for a reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/25 11:22 PM

Whole damn animal kingdom looking pretty misogynistic right now.

While I get this, you might be looking too big picture. Zoom in more and think about the place you work, and maybe the CEO of that company. Who is upper management etc. But as a guy, I do get what you're saying - or at the very least privileged =/= easy/happy. There are so many other factors of privilege.

If he made the song about a woman, yes. In fact - chances are such a song exists. Being a man child is unattractive, I'm sure men have written songs about traits in women they don't like.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/25 11:01 AM
4

well its not calling men that, its calling a man that - which is fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/25 10:46 AM
5

Do you even believe the things you've written? Crazy take brother. I think hip hop and some pop has been objectifying and demeaning women for ages. Not to mention society in general. Calling someone stupid, slow, forgetful etc isn't misandry. Its a song calling out manchild boyfriends, which is fine.

Coming from somebody who had to overcome caring about it, I can assure you its based in insecurity. It can be really difficult to see that so I understand why that gets dismissed. The hypothetical situations people leave in the comments are always at opposite ends of the extremes and are kind of useless. But in reality, under normal circumstances with normal (to an extent) numbers, its based in insecurity.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/25 05:18 AM
1

No, I need it
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 09:09 PM

yeah but there are women who are hot that I don't think are hot because of how hot they are.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/25 02:14 PM

I don't think there's much merit to that, attractiveness is subjective so this doesn't really hold weight. Sure theres objectively attractive models etc, but most regular people tend to find people attractive who are roughly as attractive as them.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/25 02:04 PM

It's never just that they're ugly though, I have many ugly friends with partners.

That makes sense, just makes it hard to gain much from that data haha. Still 50/50 seems high. I'd think 80/20 seems reasonable for something like console/PC and 50/50 if not higher for women when it comes to mobile. This is also something I'm just guessing, I don't play games anymore so I'm not exposed to modern multiplayer gaming demographic

isn't the umbrella of 'gamers' also including mums playing candy crush? I'm not saying 'girls don't game' or anything, i work in an office with a few younger women who do - but half?

What? This isn't what i've seen again, what are you talking about whats a "younger crowd" 5-6 years is fine by the time you're in your early 30s - I think aiming much lower than that you're probably kidding yourself. So men are single but women are in relationships?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/25 11:15 PM

I think male beauty standards in the last 10 years have really ramped up - i don't think this debate is worth having.

I think men on tinder aren't using it for dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 12:13 PM

I agree 100% - male genitalia is a joke made by men. I would also rather it be funny if my genitals were seen rather than sexual. But yes, to your point - men make dick and balls funny, thats why its such a commonplace graffiti.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 12:08 PM

I think thats because women are still viewed sexually first where as men less so. Not so much the result of social standards as much as it is lizard brain.

I understand the height thing, but in Australia I would think the average height for a man is somewhere between 5'9-6'3. Thats just an assumption from my friend circle and workplace. I get that I don't have a weak jaw, but I would still chalk a lot of it up to being leaner - being lean in general tends to make you better looking. But yes, the link you sent is a truly weak jaw. Crazy that 5'11 vs 6' does so much for you, im not saying i don't believe you but I am saying its crazy. Either way, i k…

I am 6'2. But my jaw is from being fit, but I am skinny by most peoples standards - like i'm not an incredibly filled out tall guy. Super nice of you to say i have good facial hair genetics though, but is that really a thing women want/look for? I mean mine is patchy its not like I can grow a beard. I am white, but i'm also Australian and most of us are white. I would still consider myself average looking, but from my own experience with my profile. I've tried to be funny, i've tried to be blasé…

33 year old man, none of that sounds familiar. Don't play games, but don't be needy. Have a fulfilling hobby, skill or interest outside of dating (this is the most important) Give a shit about your appearance. My hinge profile expresses these things, I get about 5-10 likes a day, 3~ of those would be people i find attractive. I am incredibly average looking, with an average job and a cat.

I'm a man but I would hope the vast majority of women in the modern world don't need a man for money. Your partner being successful is cool, but love is cooler.

I love when people say dating apps 'don't work'. Like who's gonna tell em??
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 06:45 AM

Not true i've met plenty of women on dating apps, even if the pool of men is larger - that doesn't really surprise me. And my suspicion would be the speed dating event was cancelled because it shares a market with the dating apps. Basket weaving classes? Salsa? I dunno, those seem pretty niche. Try the workplace, someone on your walk, friend circles, friends of friends.

Bloody hell this sub is toxic. I wouldn't worry about it too much. When you're going through a breakup (I'm also currently going through a breakup) it can be easy to feel like its only happening to you and now you're the only one thats happening too. In reality, there are 100s of people your age currently going through a breakup in your city. Lots of these are good people that have had to breakup for good reasons just like you. Relax.

It's just a thing. There's a lot of pressure for women to do other things that men don't. Money is a sign of status. A masculine trait.
