Do they have public consultations now? Anyway we can influence them to teach it in a way that doesn't demonize boys and teaches both parties to expect and receive consent?

Preset the most powerful points when its appropriate to do so. I just went to a small party (20-30 people). Someone mentioned "missing and murdered aboriginal women", another person asked "why is this happening to so many native women?", I replied "It's happening to three times as many native men." She asked, "Why don't we hear about the men then?" I replied, "People don't want to hear about dead men it seems. You know that thing with Boko Haram earlier this year? They murdered hundreds of boys …

It almost always works when you just give them the list Usually I say this. "What disadvantages do western women face that we consider fundamental to life? Consider the one's men face. More likely to die at every age in every country 8000% greater rate of homeless 1000% greater rate of childlessness among men who have children. 50% lower rate of university graduation 0% chance that the police will arrest his abuser if the man calls the police 12% chance he will get arrested if his wife abuses hi…

You didn't say anything See above: I think it's worth saying that the quotation doesn't derogate women. It seems we might blame their purported "extroitive nature" for the harmful effects of feminism, but we also might praise it for motivating the great number of efficient women who've, arguably, done more to advance it than men have done (i.e. Karen Straughan, Janet Bloomfield, Erin Pizzey, C.H. Sommers, etc.).

That's not at all what I said. You're the only one using absolutes. I didn't say "no" moral compass. I said they are more outwardly oriented. I also explicitly noted that being outwardly oriented was morally neutral. I credited an outward orientation as being the reason that so many women have noticed how society treats men. Moreover, I notice many of your posts are pro-feminist. So as a sympathizer, how would you defend their movement, which entirely depends on demonizing men generally?
/r/MensRights31/12/14 05:05 AM

You get that 'feminism' and 'men's rights' necessarily generalize. You can't argue for group rights without doing that. I think almost all of us get that it's almost never the case that 'all X are Y'.

Really? Then you're lucky. I was married to an abusive wife, and there's no question that feminist policies added to the danger I lived with. For proof, see the Duluth model (the most common DV training method used by police), and this evidence that the police arrest the man when he calls for help about a DV issue.

Yeah I'm inclined to agree. If there is morality - where is it? I can't touch it. Am I being too concrete? So then what is morality? A natural tendency in humans to get along with each other? What makes that good? The fact that it's a natural tendency? By that reasoning, the characteristic actions of psychopaths and serial killers are moral. So if it's not that it's natural, is it that most people do it? By that reasoning all moral change was immoral. After all, at one time, most people didn't h…

I think he means to say that they spend more time paying attention to what's going on outside of them; consequently they don't hear what their moral compass is saying, and they often notice when other people do something objectionable. I.e. they notice when other people behave badly but not when they behave badly themselves.

Don't hostage takers say stuff like this? "I don't want to see anyone get hurt!" I.e. My favourite outcome is me getting money and no one getting hurt, but I'll hurt as many people as I need to hurt if that's what it takes to get my money. "Feminists don't want to see anyone falsely accused of rape." (I.e. Our favourite outcome is no rape and no false accusations, but we'll advocate for false accusers if that's what it takes to attain our ends.)

From the Dialogues: Protagoras: Truth is relative. It is only a matter of opinion. Socrates: You mean that truth is mere subjective opinion? Protagoras: Exactly. What is true for you is true for you, and what is true for me, is true for me. Truth is subjective. Socrates: Do you really mean that? That my opinion is true by virtue of its being my opinion? Protagoras: Indeed I do. Socrates: My opinion is: Truth is absolute, not opinion, and that you, Mr. Protagoras, are absolutely in error. Since t…

In so far as therapy goes - you're actually right. Both my dad and ex had mentioned that there's no evidence that any therapy other than CBT works well, and there's no evidence that expert CBT is more effective than non-expert or self-CBT (it's easy to learn). A good psychiatrist uses drugs well (there's a bit of an art - we don't exactly know how they all work) but more importantly, s/he can grab a hold of the part of the person that wants help, without alienating the other part. That's the cha…

You might say there are two types of psychiatrists: The ones who don't bother with discovery and challenge because they have the cookie cutter DSM The ones who do bother with discovery and challenge because they only have the cookie cutter DSM. The good ones are in the second camp. For them the DSM is a common language between professionals. No I don't like it at all. I got fucked by a very cunning psychiatry resident. In short: We had a long distance courtship. She just had to remain sane on weekends, when we visited. We were both Christian, so we didn't live together before marriage, and we had a briefer courtship, which made it easier for her to hide it. My dad's a psychiatrist, she slipped past him too (and all the psychiatrists who supervise her). I believed that keeping wedding vows mattered, so I was determined to make it wor…

If you want to get like that. It wasn't a straw man. I accepted your point at the very beginning. Then I clarified by moving over to rational. Reasonable - maybe not. They're certainly more rational than we are. A lot of the conversation on this board is dealing with women's severe rationality. Women don't sacrifice themselves for others or for causes. Women excel at exploiting the institution of promise keeping. Women excel at convincing others they are both the victim and the hero. Women mate and marry in a manner that is anything but irrational (fuck the guy with the best genes, marry the guy with the money). For all we might critic…

Yeah and we'd need 2 sets of raters. One comfortably well off, the other in more needy circumstances. I'd give the women four choices: fuck, marry, both, neither. First: read my post - it explains it. Women are attracted to men they know can, and will, fuck a lot of other women source. Hugh Hefner deals in women who would fuck him for fame, women know this, and so they want to fuck him, and other women knows this and so they want to... and so it goes. I said "in the west", but that was generalizing, the ghetto is an exception. I should have said "when people have security, and most of what they need, looks trump status and power". Selection pressure isn't a one time thing. It's continuous, it exists when times are good, and when times are bad. The persistence of a species is a function of its ability to adapt to change. The genes of a woman whose phenotypic desires changed with her environment would supplant the genes of women whose phenotypic desires did not do so.

Yeah, contrary to popular knowledge, life was good 12,000 years ago - before the mega-fauna extinction. Once we killed all the easy protein, we had to work more than 20+ hours a week, live in diseased cities, and rely on aleatory farming for food. The average human height in the West just caught up to what it was globally 12,000 years ago. Wikipedia says its true.

Plus it has some other bonuses. So - you don't need good looks to get laid, but good looks guarantee it more than anything else does. At what age? At 19-23 (and really, not in a big way until your late 20s or early 30s) nothing else matters but looks, and girls outside of their 20s aren't often hot. That's my take. But to call that "advice" like there's a bunch of it - I don't buy it. What's singular for advice? Advisement? His advisement is, "If you're hot, they've decided to fuck you, from here on out you can only screw it up, so just shut up."

It might be true that confident ugly men are the only ugly men that get fucked, but it definitely isn't true that looks don't matter - it's not even remotely true. That said, there isn't a big difference between a 6 and a 7, by definition. If 5 is the most common, let's talk about the difference between a 5 and an 8 (average and GLL). 3-months isn't enough. It needs to be to the point of unassisted viability. In Canada, my country, doctors may (but almost none do) perform abortions any time before delivery. Most doctors have decided that they will only perform abortions on women less than ~25 weeks pregnant: approximately the time when the baby has a snowball's chance in hell of surviving without medical support.

Bullshit isn't it. "He" is the traditional gender-neutral pronoun. However, as a matter of law, a woman sexually penetrates a man only if she uses an object to do so. Perhaps "an act of sexual penetration" designates occurrences of rape, which women can not perpetrate without an implement, and occurrences of being made to penetrate, which women can perpetrate without an implement. So as a man - I have no choice but to pay child-support to any woman I naturally inseminate. If I have that obligation, I ought to have the right to have a reasonably accurate idea of what my child might inherit. If a woman wears inconspicuous heels, and if women hate short men (which the ones on Twitter seem to) and if this woman conceives when we have sex, then I will have unknowingly contributed to the creation of a person who will grow up to be hated by women.

Let me put it plainly for you. *Of all alleged-rapes feminist go on about, 3% have been confirmed true. *Of all alleged-rapes MRAs go on about, 3% have been confirmed false. There are many reasons that's useful in an argument.

You've conflated 'accusations' with 'rapes alleged to have occurred', so you've misunderstood the entry and the replies to your comment.

You've got it. That was MakhSC's mistake. He didn't consider non-reports. Feminists estimate non-reports to be upwards of 90% of those 97% of unconvicted rapes, so the non-reports are hugely important. Moving away from what I wrote in the entry, feminists have themselves in something of a finger trap with their claim that a massive number of rapes are unreported. Take the set of all rapes that did, in fact, occur. The greater the non-report rate of those rapes, the greater the proportion of fals…

Even if that group is as racially diverse as the general population, it'll still generally be 'white males'. Moreover, old applies to anyone 35-40+, so that's approximately 75% of adulthood included in that. Again, even if the group is as diverse as the general population, it'll still generally be true. But most problematically, it discredits the men who have lived through life and are i…
