I am genuinely excited for this to come out so I can laugh at how hard it tanks. Maybe (hopefully) this can be the beginning of a new era for a similar franchise

Just went through TRADOC this past year and was disgusted with the double standards. Women get away with MURDER in the military. Insubordination and talking back that would get a male recruit smoked to hell and back and an article 15 just got brushed aside. Absolutely infuriating.

This just all goes back to my main point: avoid ultimatums if at all possible. Going to a club to dance with friends =/= going to a brothel

That's an entirely different situation

Of course it depends if it's reasonable! But in general, it's typically not the best choice for a given situation. If he has such little trust in his girlfriend that she can't even go to the club without him thinking she's cheating, then why is he dating her? Trust is fundamental to a relationship, and their issues are deeper than her desire to go to the club.

NO, and that is exactly my point! I'm saying that issuing ultimatums sucks for everyone involved. I'm saying communicate the issue instead of issuing an ultimatum, because ultimatums are not a part of a healthy relationship, compromise is. If your SO doesn't give a shit about how you feel, then it's obviously time to end things. No one should ever be in a relationship against their will, but also you have to recognize that saying things like "if you go to the club it's over" is unhealthy and sho…

Now in THIS comment, he is specifically saying this exact scenario. If the guy wanted to go to the club with his friends and his girlfriend said "if you do, I'm leaving you." What would your response be to that? If you have so little faith in your SO that them going to a bar automatically = they're gonna cheat, then stop dating that individual, because that is an unhealthy relationship. I personally have no problem with him following through on his threat to leave her if she goes, but the fact t…

If you had literally ever had a female friend in your life, you would know that sometimes girls just like to go dance. What I was pointing out is not that he doesn't want her to go (that's very reasonable), but rather how he went about it. Setting out ultimatums is rarely a good choice. I'm not lying about anything, I'm generalizing for the sake of making a point. I didn't say "not wanting your gf to go fuck other people is you wanting unrealistic control over her." I literally just wanted to po…

Thank you man, I really appreciate this message. I couldn't agree more with you that this page can get really extremist. I think it's the hostility and extremism like I got on my comments here that turns more people away from the general message of the page, which is really unfortunate

I didn't get on here to be a patronizing dickhead. I feel like there are a fair number of misconceptions about the average relationship on here and am just trying to point out that if you think this behavior is/should be normal, it isn't. I've never been downvoted to oblivion for pointing out what is common human decency before lol I fuck with the general MGTOW message but everyone on here is exceptionally bitter and negative

Look man, my original point was just that you shouldn't be so quick to toss out ultimatums. That's it. I'm not in the mood to argue on Reddit all evening. So, all particularities of this situation aside, fellas... In general, giving ultimatums to people you care about is a shitty move. Not sure why you have such an issue with me saying that

Couldn't be much farther from a white knight lol and no of course not. But in this scenario the OP is mad at her for going to a club. All I'm trying to do is point out that this is clearly an unhealthy relationship if you think you should be completely in charge of your SO. Yes, there can always be a discussion about things being uncomfortable for you, but saying "I don't like it and if you go it's over" is not healthy for a relationship. Of COURSE there are times when an ultimatum is acceptable…

Honestly man, you change an absolute shit ton as a teenager and a young adult. You likely won't recognize your 15 year old self when you look back in 5 years. I know everyone thinks that they're as mature as they'll ever be, even at only 15 (I sure as hell did), but honestly you're just dealing with your first real rejection and a huge ego blow. Find some things that you love doing and focus on them. Eventually you'll heal and you'll know what to do at that point, but as for now you're just reac…
