1	The big list of (other) blue pill bullshit. I went through the same shift in politics most guys undergo in their twenties. In my early thirties, that shit still mattered to me, it was important dammit! Then at 35 I realised, wait, none of it has ever directly affected me, isn't likely to affect me, and in the unlikely event that it did there wouldn't be anything I could reasonably do about it, so I chilled the hell out about it. Yeah, you owe it to yourself to achieve and maintain a basic level of strength, fitness, and aesthetic appeal. Right now I only value cars for their utility as transport - I used to have a much more emotional investment in them, I was all about those rear wheel kilowatts for a couple of years. But that kind of money, for those kinds of cars, in a built up city where you could rarely drive above 60km/h. What was I thinking. The opportunity costs, yikes. 2	The big list of (other) blue pill bullshit. All good. You can definitely do home ownership and higher education intelligently and get a good ROI (however you care to define that for yourself). Most people don't though - that's kind of what I'm driving at - most people do these things because "it's what you're supposed to do".
