I found the glory of kettlebells and got in the best shape of my life during quarantine

It’s alright dude. Keep reading the right things, lift, don’t watch porn, and don’t develop any bad habits. You have an incredible amount of potential in front of you at 18, I wish I discovered some of these concepts at your age.

If you can get your hands on a kettlebell do it! One 35-45lb kettlebell can give you a killer workout. I didn’t touch dumbbells for 5 months during lockdown, only swung a 35lb kettlebell daily, and my deadlift improved (other lifts stayed the same except bench)

If you could go back and talk to yourself the day before you proposed, what would you say?

Hard kettlebell exercise works for me. Do 150 snatches and tell me you don’t feel good after

I collect, restore, and shoot old rifles. I bike a lot, hike, fish, ski, cook, paint, produce music. Plenty of stuff to do.

Like you said ping her in a week or two to set a date. If she turns it down and doesn’t offer to reschedule, drop her off your radar

Muay Thai, bjj or boxing. It doesn’t really matter which one you pick, but just pick one and stick with it. Push through the initial toughness - I don’t know what type of shape you’re in, but any respectable martial art will beat you up initially and likely be a little discouraging. Just keep showing up and you’ll get better. People who have been involved in these sports for a long time are some of the nicest and most helpful people you’ll meet. Good luck!

Why are you asking this here?

Just lie. Say you’ve got something lined up, you’re working on the details, taking a sabbatical, etc. Spin it positive.

Research any type of rehab you can do. Maybe go to a physical therapist, they have helped me in the past. There is always a workaround to injury when lifting.

Yeah, I wouldn’t worry about that. Do any guys in the UFC have big arms and shoulders?

Going after someone you work with is a really good way to fuck up your employment situation and potentially finances. Don’t do it.

Also like somebody else said, you gain absolutely nothing by going negative with her and “calling her out”. All that does is make you look like a whiney bitch, regardless of whether she deserves to be called out or not.

Let’s assume this was a real girl actually looking to do this for a second... you completely cocked this up for yourself. Why not meet this stranger for one drink in a public place to make sure she’s not completely insane/hideous before bringing her in to your home? Also I get the whole “commanding alpha no-bullshit” demeanour you were trying to convey here, but damn man, you can be a little nicer and still get what you want. I’ve had situations like this with girls online and they have worked o…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
