Don't worry about it too much. My parents always ask if I have a girlfriend whenever I speak to them. And I'm 50. Then my dad privately tells me he doesn't know how they're going to survive retirement because my mom keeps spending money on frivolous bullshit. I just tell him, that's one of the many reasons.
