If your only concern is what your future will look like, you don't need HER. You can try to he busy for some time and try to be self-sufficient and sustainable for a while. When you are over her, go on dates and see what's out there.

My 2 cents- she says she ended it, and it seems she has explored her demons with the other person. If she wants to get back, you should both be up for it. Use it as an opportunity to actually build something stronger and if that's not possible end it.

Why did you have to give her the 1m$ house? Did she pay for it too? What's the equity val you have on it less debt?

Everything 50/50? Is your income and assets lower than your spouse/ex spouse?

Could it be that the remaining "happy" ones are just sucking it up and living the life they didnt intend for themselves.. maybe?

Exactly!! How do we fight this draconian law??? Men deserve justice. For years we have been treated unfairly...

In my case, we're catholics and we followed abstinence until marriage. It helped that we were in a 5 year long distance relationship (out of the 6 .. ikr..?? ) before we got married. Now, the thought of her with someone else does make me feel very sour but it is what it is... :(

Pretty much everything the same situation as you except that we have been married 10 years with 2 kids. As usual my heart goes out to you and I wish you good luck with life which I hope will be much better after this!!! Hugs

In my case, I busted my ass off. Worked long hours and saved up by living like a rat. I helped her migrate to the country and now she is literally squeezing my balls to get "her rights". She wants the marital home (around 500k in equity) and 3k in child support per MONTH for the next 12 years..... She is terrible with money matters and spends like there is no need to save. I wonder if life is even worth living at this point.

Have you considered leaving this system and moving to a better country? No one should live like this.

My heart goes out to you. Similar situation here and finances used as a weapon for the divorce terms. I have also been told my 4 and 7 yo kids "hate" me when they dont.

The fact that you have you have to think about this proves how shitty the laws are for men and how there is no incentive of you wanting the best for yourself. It is extremely horrible when women take advantage of this in times with equal rights and equal opportunities. My heart goes out to you (and to myself).. my wife wants hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash settlement and on top of that wants to use the "child support calculator" to determine child support which comes out to 3000$ a mont…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
