I wonder what exactly is contributing to this rise in shitty partners? I feel like I never heard this before (outsider to the dating world). Is it just that it’s becoming more common? Cause really, there’s no reason every woman should have this kind of traumatic experience.

I believe that it’s definitely possible. We live in a world filled with possibilities. Being able to commit to one person for life definitely doesn’t seem super unlikely. Whether it’s a good fit for everyone, on the other hand, seems like a different question. A lot of people have entered less “mainstream” forms of open relationships, such as polyamory or cuckoldry (whether as the cuckold or the cuckquean). Personally, I enjoy the idea of being a one woman man. You could argue that from a deeper…

Resilience, respect, and responsibility. Master these three R’s and you can master facing rejection, and building confidence.

Then it’s likely that maybe they would have given you a shot if they weren’t in a relationship. Then things went south, and they gave you a chance. I’m not saying I think it’s impossible to escape the friend zone, just that it’s a futile exercise and one that won’t happen naturally. Choose people who choose you right away, don’t give them time to “change their mind”. Real life isn’t like The Office.

I understand what you’re saying, but I don’t think that’s the same thing as the “friend zone”. The friend zone is usually referred to in the context of a bitter place of a lack of attraction to someone you view platonically, and nothing more. A lot of people did start off as friends, and that was the foundation for their romance, yes.

Nice to have some female perspective. I agree that being too needy/clingy is a bad thing; and that having your own sense of individuality is important. I don’t think it’s so much “keeping your options open” as it is having a life outside of the girl you’re courting at the time. Cause honestly, I hate the idea of having multiple women I’m entertaining at once.

Nice write up. Do I have to do number 1, though? The idea of keeping a roster seems so shady to me. Keeping options open seems so wrong. That’s not to say you should put all your eggs in one basket, rather just stick to one option at a time. If the “experiment” fails, then just entertain another person. One at a time is better than multiple people at once, IMO. But maybe that’s the naive, dating inexperienced part of me speaking. Like, I get it, but I feel like the courting phase is important an…

I’m a bit confused, the friend you confessed your feelings to two years ago is the one you’re with now?

I took an improv class almost a year ago. I LOVED it and got to meet some really cool people, on top of making others laugh.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
