Absolutely! It’s so important to remember that it’s not about us, it’s about them. His inability to meet your expectations is about his own issues. Don’t take it as a reflection of your worth. Just keep it moving and let him disappoint someone else while you level up and thrive!

I agree that passive men are a huge turn off. My ex was always defaulting to me to handle things and in my old pick-me ways this appealed to the nurturing, responsible part of myself that would just take care of things. Eventually I grew to resent him when I realized I had no one to fall back on whenever I needed that support in return. Now that I’ve had some time to reflect on the relationship, I see how his nice-guy, go-with-the-flow act initially made me lower my guard and see him as harmless…

💯percent! Every time my gut started telling me something was off in a relationship and I snooped, I would always find stuff! I have never regretted it. It has always helped protect me from staying in a relationship that was not right for me.

I appreciate you doing that. I posted about a relationship problem with my ex in the relationship advice sub and got the most horrible advice. It made me feel so insecure and doubt myself when there were serious red flags. FDS helped validate my feelings and concerns to where I finally ended it. I’m sure I would’ve prolonged my misery by staying in that relationship if I had listened to some of the advice I got the first time on that sub.
