I've found that people who talk about attractiveness in this way often have extreme exposure to media in the form of social media, models in advertising, and porn. The last one is the most harmful. Over time, people usually realize that the beautiful and attractive person they see is largely a function of camera angles, makeup, posture, and other superficial elements that come together to conform to various rules and standards in society. There are people who are so focused on becoming this mass…

There’s also an advantage to not making the first move. You avoid rejection and it’s really hard. The social structure has men making the first move and dictating the rhythm of the relationship with women having the right of first refusal. However this places men as the protagonist of the love story which is, as you would call it, misogynistic. But misogynistic might be too strong as it not based on a hatred of women, but rather, a preference towards men as the protagonist. There’s an advantage …

I believe a good way of determining whether your standards are too high is to determine whether the experiences needed to acquire specific qualities contradict. For example, expecting a woman to be extremely beautiful while also never having sexual experiences while also being good in bed and having a PhD in rocket science and be 100% interested in you and only you would suggest a very odd series of life experiences to get to that point. On the male side, expecting a man to have a six pack, 6 fi…

Doesn’t this static work for men too? Age distribution 20-24 us 12%, non ugly, obese, physically disabled is 5%. But if you have a man in their 30s with 6 figures, the number drops to 1% irrespective of other qualities. Looking at numbers these ways is odd because it’s not absolute numbers that matter, but ratio of your social status to that of what you seek. There are far more attractive women than billionaires. So become a billionaire? It’s all still rather superficial. Society is far more com…

Would a woman date a man who wears makeup?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/22 01:30 PM

True. But there are often stated and unstated social dynamics. No one admits to being racist. But we know racism still exists. I will agree, however, that a lot of women date vastly inferior men for unknown ridiculous reasons. The same goes the opposite way as well.

Women who experience trauma at a young age have a higher chance of selecting for partners that resemble their father on a subconscious desire to attain the attention their father didn’t give them. Those men tend to target women who experience trauma and since they typically don’t use protection, more babies come out in proportion to other systems where healthy relational dynamics exist. The OP greatly skews the narrative to be saying all women select for this. But, in fact, women will have a hig…

The male virgin dynamic is complex. Sex is not about sex but about feeling like they are wanted and can be loved. This is often rooted in dynamics of how they were raised as a child. Typical childhoods and upbringings usually allow for development where sex happens naturally in the course of one's life. They usually have parents to guide them accordingly. Therefore, it's not about the sex, but about something deeper. Thus, you need to let go of the sex in order to go deeper to understand what's …

The solution is varied and depends on the individual person. There are a lot of reasons why someone is a virgin at a higher age. It could be based on circumstance, personal defect, or other particular reasons. However, I want to point out that people often overemphasize sex in life, especially in American culture. People who have sex are not necessarily happier than people who don't have sex. The root of the problem isn't necessarily being a virgin at an older age, but rather, being unhappy. And…

Men and women contribute what they want to contribute. There are plenty of women financially supporting men and asking themselves why. The traditional roles baked in history had men as breadwinner and women as caregivers because we literally banned women from participating in the economy. But that has changed a lot over the past 500 years and more. These days, it up to you what women contribute by being with someone and accepting the exchange. But the reality is, in our modern day, men and women…

There's good discussion here. But I wanted to add something that I think people don't usually discuss. For much of human history, marriage has been more of an economic proposition than an emotional one. People only cared about marriage thousands of years ago when it dealt with royalty (combining the loyalties of a kingdom) or how assets were transferred. If you were poor, there was no need for marriage. During those times, we generally had communities where we farmed or hunted or a combination o…

There are a lot of decent comments here, some less decent, some incorrect. However, I noticed that very few people mentioned the role of parents in the vetting process. There was one that spoke about getting the father to do the questioning. But likely relies on having loving parents which may be central to the issue. The relationships we adopt are often modeled by the relationships we've experienced growing up. A lot of people who tolerate or accept abusive relationships often had abusive relat…

Since this is a summary of thematic elements, there is a possibility I misrepresent your view. I apologize in advance. Please let me know if I have done so. Equality and Inequality The general theme of Equality vs Inequality as well as systemic dynamics can be blended together. But since this is such a broad topic, I'd like to narrow it to the specific question of "Was the Red Pill missing something about the larger systemic issues with gender equality?" That being said, I can agree that the iss…

Unfortunately, I'm still running into glitches so I'll have to do something different. I was hoping to continue the discussion point by point out of respect and to avoid misrepresentation of your position. However, it seems I'll have to do more of a summary response to the different themes. Luckily, I agree with you on many issues so those areas will be easy to quickly comment on. We already did that, and may have been "fair", but it's not a human thing to do. We could justify slavery following that logic I mean, but we don't think slavery is a good thing right? I agree 100% Your original reply to my OP was, "If we value men more than women, then why tax men so we can make it better for women?" My question was "Can you imagine a world where we tax women?" Your reply was essentially, "No" My response was bringing us into history where women had a 100% tax on their labor as…

Thanks for taking the time to work with me. I agree with you 100%. I have some issues with the evolutionary explanation but I honestly don't have a better competing theory. So I keep it for now because it's useful. However, I suspect more is going on. However, I wanted to address something different. The RP ideology has helped me focus less on women and focus more on myself. I've benefited from that. However, I pause at the dynamics they describe about the dating world. I pause not because I don…

What about taxing them in the form of not allowing them to own property, not providing them with an education, requiring them to only be able to do house chores and care for children? This would effectively half the labor force, allowing only men to compete for jobs, doubling their income at the expense of women being forced to stay at home. Quite a heavy tax, no?

Like many internet movements, it doesn't quite have a clear definition. However, the one that is most proposed by people on this post appears to be a philosophy that helps men improve their lives and their dating prospects. However, I've seen TRP labeled as having more sinister theories and goals. It's hard to pin down for sure. But I wonder if any of these theories are aware of the woman's point of view. That's why I made the post.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/22 10:35 PM

I can see your point of view. I've explored the possibility that women, given their biological characteristics, (having a uterus, having more estrogen, lower muscle mass, etc.) would allow for more generalizations that could explain a lot of the behavior we see (in the pareto principal sense of the term). I heard a lot of discussion from an evolutionary biology standpoint. However, I've always been uncomfortable with evolutionary biology as an explanation because it always feels like a back of t…

Thanks for sharing your experience. For those that say that women can "opt-out", your experience is the data point to demonstrate that it's harder for women to "opt-out." And many other women have made this same complaint. But TRP seems to ignore or deny it outright.

I think you make a good point. I went at length about the women's perspective but I was quick on the men's side because my original post was meant to explore the system issues that women experience to allow TRP to be so effective in practice. You wrote a well written response so I felt a reply back was warranted. I don't disagree. But I noticed that my explanation of the man's viewpoint was a bit too quick which likely caused a lot of people to have a problem with that portion of my OP. I agree …

To avoid accusations of misogyny, TRP needs to frame itself as a process, which is fair. As Kvakerok said, TRP makes observations about female behavior. However, what I was proposing in the OP was that these observations may be true, but there is a fundamental societal cause for these behaviors in women that are so "universal". I won't speak for Kvakerok but I understand his viewpoint too. TRP works. Does it work for all women? Nothing works for "all" but does it work for "most"? Well depends on…

I think women whom claim the inability to opt out of the marketplace are really looking to reap its benefits without paying its costs. Like if you dress for sexual attention that will come with both pros and cons in perception I think you make a good point. I think Kagan is a decent example to further explore. Thanks.

RP ideology ran true for a certain period of my life. But then I interacted with actual women and got their viewpoint. I presented my OP to open it up for debate to better understand what's going on. I suspect RP is only describing a certain type of woman just like women who complain about men are describing a specific type of man. Just trying to figure it out. Thanks for your input.

My assumption is that high value men and women have more options and, therefore, have more temptation to cheat. More temptation usually leads to a higher probability of giving into temptation. It's not an absolute, but the probabilities are somewhere. It's a fear a lot of people have when they're with a very attractive SO. It might be a faulty assumption. I'm open to data that demonstrates otherwise. I agree that using sex to abuse things is bad. I don't think it has to be just an opinion.

I'm not so sure if women can opt out. Many would say that they are unable to. They complain of being constantly harassed just by being a woman (I've seen a few youtube videos of people catcalling a woman in a 5 hour walk in the city). Do you have example of women who opted out? If not, then it would mean that women can't really opt out. If yes, then it's an interesting example for further understanding.

It's hard to collectively say what RP would advise women to do since RP typically advise men. However, I'm going off some interviews from men that are in the RP spectrum when asked questions about how they advise their daughters. It's usually along the lines of understand your sexual market value, if you want to find a HVM then be a quality woman. But Quality is often phrased in the form of worshiping the man with the expectation that he'll take care of you. However, it's hard to put "RP" into a…

That's fair. Women are born with an innate value whereas men are not. Homelessness isn't their rock bottom. Sexual exploitation is. But at least they get fed. I can see that point and I'm not being sarcastic.

I don’t really see it as a skill. It assumes the woman has no agency. It’s not a tiered list of easy to hard to which “more skilled” men will sleep with more women in the “hard” group. It’s a game of matching and mismatching social class.

I actually don’t believe the friend zone is what people think it is. People believe it’s about physical attraction. However, I’ve actually gotten out of the friend zone a few times. Nothing concrete perse. But I have a theory that the friend zone has more to do with social class than raw animal attraction. Although physical attraction plays into social class. However, social class is very difficult to overcome which makes the friend zone feel permanent. Good listening helps you understand women …

Masculinity is often about power. Power is often represented as muscles and/or financial wealth. This requires time to grow. Femininity is about fertility. This occurs at younger ages. This pattern has biological origins. It’s uncertain whether it applies to the modern age. However, I’m pretty sure attractive older men use steroids and supplements to maintain their attractiveness and attractive older women use plastic surgery and botox. In the end, wealth (economics), social class, and attractiv…

Yes. In our society, young, fertile, healthy women are superior to the average man. The prize issue does not apply for old, infertile, unhealthy women. No one will consider you winning a prize if you snatched that up. Similar dynamics for men. Wealthy, strong, healthy men are the prize. Relationships are just economics and biology which explains the majority of social behavior.

A lot of men don’t have choice so they’re advised to improve themselves. A lot of women have too many bad choices so they’re advised to just say no. This is because people always want to be in a relationship of someone in a higher social class. Since men initiate, they get a lot of rejections when they pursue women in a higher social class. Women are passive in the dating role so they receive a lot of requests from men in a lower social class. There are a lot of solutions to this dynamic. But I …

Interesting analysis. I would like to add a few things. I suspect that the reason why economic dynamics work with relationships is because our understanding of "top tier" men/women is highly economically driven. We typically see "top tier" as being attractive and having economic resources. Economic resources is more heavily weighted for men and attraction more heavily weighted for women (generally speaking). However, I would argue that attraction is also an economic dynamic which implies that "t…

I believe the frustration comes from the observation that people choose to stay with or pursue toxic dynamics. Such poor choices can only be explained by some subconscious driver that is often biological. This is true for both men and women.

Sounds about right. All the methods have pros and cons. The filtering process for social circles is much higher but the probability that someone is single is much less because you’re not selecting for single women. However, very attractive women get snatched up asap because there’s always one guy that is willing to date her regardless of personality. Finding a single woman who is attractive requires that woman to actively not date someone as they are likely being asked out. What’s the solution? …

I think Physical and Emotional are the wrong ways to split the two types of connection. A physical connection is just attraction. But attraction is just a social construct where we assess a person's value based on cultural cues of physical characteristics (hair style, body type, height, weight, fashion sense, etc.). Notice how there's no "physical connecting" in this attraction. It's all happening psychologically. An emotional connection is where you've interacted with the person and formed an a…

I’ve heard this line of logic before. It makes sense logically but people are rarely logical or rational. Someone can say it and it can be true to them. But they can also be disingenuous with themselves and want their cake and eat it too. Sex is a bargaining tool. It’s part of the relationship dynamic. So this sort of logic allows one to maintain sex as a bargaining tool by adding a LTR attached to it while also not giving up sex (or the bargaining power of it). The biggest issue is consistency.…

A RPW gains the ability to understand a RPM. They can use it to bed him, wed him, or get rid of him. The Red Pill ideology has certain sets of rules and promotes a certain lifestyle. I believe the people who can't successfully get relationships will be single. They may or may not have children. Those children will see their parents single and process what that means for them. For people who are able to have children the traditional way, they will be able to teach their children on various relationship dynamics. So 4 things will happen (1) The mindset of people who are single without children will phase out of society. (2) The mindset of people who are single and have childre…

Imperfect labels are imperfect. Best to understand the history and origins of a community to understand whether or not you really fit. It's hard to identify the cause of one statistic. You'd need multiple statistics to get closer to the truth. Even then, you might never get there. For example, if there is a survey on how many of depressed women point to relationships as the reason for their depression, it would add to it. But if they point to unrealistic beauty standards, then there may be more going on. If the bulk of them get depression at 60 years old, it would suggest something else versus the bulk being around 30-40. What …
