Hmm, perhaps my experience is limited, but the shit-tests I've encountered that were designed to incite an emotional response were indeed disrespectful. I agree that a couple should take care of each other, but I've met feminine creatures who can be less than rational and caring when upset =P

I understand being Zen and not letting things phase/unbalance you, but you're talking about external things going wrong, rather than bad behaviour on her part, right? i.e. stand by her in times of need, but if she disrespects you or the relationship you should not react emotionally, but you should not put up with it. I guess my dilemma is how you show your girl you're there for the long run, while not putting up with her BS. When do you say enough is enough?

I don't agree that it's the same stories/routines for naturals, but watching comedians tell stories is a great idea. Watch how they use their body language; the tone, speed and volume of their voice; check the pauses, the commentry, and the visualisations they throw in - all 3 are important. edit: Maybe you could record yourself telling a story and we'll critique?

It's not completely necessary, but I like to keep the conversation flowing, and I was responding to the above commenter joking about being awesome.

I agree, a thank you is sufficient. There are people who are embarassed by compliments, people who gracefully accept, and people who were dying to hear them. You want to be the middle one. Also, you can jokingly downplay a compliment while being confident, which IMHO comes off better than to jokingly up-play it. e.g. "Wow you have really great arms" "(confidently) haha thanks, but I'm just overcompensating for my tiny calves/hyundai/retardedness/whatever wink"

"Yeah the smell is a bit rough but I can power through it."

Wayyy too situational, also, if it's gotten to that point, I'm not sure a line is going to save the relationship haha. In general, if she's being serious, and you're serious about her, talk it through with her.

If she's been showing you interest, call her out: "(laughs) then why do you keep checking me out?" If she's telling the truth and being closed up, don't be a creep and let it go =P If she's undecided: "You were dancing by yourself tonight ;)" and start dancing with her

I'd change it slightly to 'I like women too...', but this. Also generally I find that this is a good opportunity to be genuinely interested - rather than be a creep and ask for a threesome/to see them kiss etc, get some of your questions answered.

Invent something new each time, depending on your mood. Go with a rockstar profession sometimes (F1 driver, rocket scientist, spy, etc) and role play, and go with something completely random other times (wrestling cat trainer, button salesman, etc) and joke around. It's playful, gives you plenty to talk about and leaves your actual profession mysterious.

Depends on the girl/situation. If she's genuinely insecure and you love her give her a bit more love and give a heart-felt unique answer. If she's just being a brat then go with guitarpickup's line Who says I love you? Sticks out tongue.

in a bar: Then obviously you're not drunk enough, lets head to the bar. otherwise: (laugh it off) but my mum says I'm hilarious!

Ask her how work's going, use an opinion opener, or see if there's anything you can comment on (specials, anything out of the ordinary going on in the mall, etc). Assuming it's not busy just make small talk then transition into your normal game.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
