3 & 5. The custody is inked. The financial part has just been an aggravating back and forth that’s wasting time and money with the lawyers. I’m trying to be amicable but running out of patience with it. Seems like basic math. Considering just going nuclear and airing all of her dirty laundry in the hopes she’ll quit the bs and settle.

Yes I do, however I’ve already blown through my retainer and we aren’t even to mediation yet. Thus I figured I would pose the question here to see if anyone had a similar experience and what the results were. I don’t actually care much for the cash, the reality is she would keep what she originally put down for the house so we’re literally talking about $30k in profit that I would ask for half at this point. I’m not sure that helps with my example, since I’m guessing neither of you did anything to add value to the car you traded in. In my case I increased the value of her home by remodeling it and it was sold at a profit.

No, we flipped houses as a side gig and luckily all of our real estate is sold. We’ve done 4 together while married, 5 if you include the one we flipped (hers) prior to getting married. She’s not disputing the money earned from our flips while married and that will be 50/50. I’m just curious if I have any claim to the money from the first since I did all of the work. I am currently renting and she got her own place after I discovered her affair.

I’m not worried about the home we bought together. I’m asking about the house I remodeled and sold for her prior to us being married at all. Since it was her house she’s claiming all of the proceeds as premarital. Those proceeds were used as a down payment for our marital home which we remodeled and sold years ago. My question is because I helped her earn the money for our down payment prior to marriage do I have any claim to it or am I SOL on the $60k down payment.
