It was this subreddit that gave me support like what I'm reading now. I didnt have the close physical support team. so this was a good way yo hear what other men were doing. Taking one hour at a time, day by day. go for a walk and do not let what other people think and their stigmas get to you. your children need you. it took me months to realize, it wasn't that I was sad about not seeing the children and even sad I wouldnt be with them as much, I was honestly sad about them simply growing up an…

Well put! I am 5 months passed finalized divorce and it's only recently I feel that I have increased my emotional skills to address the items you outlined from OP. im 37 and love seeing my children and enjoy it more now that I have half a week in between to do whatever the fuck I want to spend my time and money on. as long as it don't interfere with being a dad. you'll be surprised with how much money you don't need to live on...once you figure it out.

half of everything that was accrued during the marriage! equal halves of all property, no matter what. if she pays you the balance or you need to pay her the balance in the end to make all property at signing equally divided. no matter the difference in current salaries. divide debts, physical property, savings, and retirement. child support and time with the children should be as equal as possible and as reasonable. agree on the school and decide on a weekly schedule. if these things can't be d…

know who you are. stay in your lane. she's missing her son but oversteps with that texting shit. she feels like her identity is with her kids and might feel it as much as you. ignore that shit she says. what was she counting? keep your emotions in check. im in a similar situation and we know how to not fight fire with fire. your ex had poor judgement there so inconsiderate

sounds like you'll put the lawyer's kids thru college. take of tour of the schools, talk to the teachers, get to know it first. kids are a product of their parents not the school. 50/50 no matter what is best you can ask for!

Don't tell my ex yet, but one day I'll thank her for the divorce. one year ago i was served with divorce papers. wow. She moved out of the city in May and I finally came to my senses to sell the property, split the proceeds, and live 8 mins from her in an apt in July. We would have been 45 mins away from each other. imagine driving that far one way to see the kids. we finalized in November School choice and agreeing on days and hours with the kids helps. Make and suggest plans ahead of time. the…

Wow, you hit home for me. This is my first post/reply on reddit ever. We finalized divorce 2 months ago and I am in that phase of grasping for my next or rediscovered hobby and why I loved life in the first place. And yes, my children are a big motivator. I'm learning they can't be my sole motivator. PS: I am also NOW part of the r/motorcycles once again :-))) nothing like getting back to it

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
