I'm a teen so hopefully I can shed some light on to how this might affect your son as he grows up. I'm by no way trying to imply that men get short-changed less. I'm just saying both genders face unfair issues, so in a way having the names Men's Rights and Women's Rights only works to divide a group of people which should be working together and would have a lot more traction if they did.

Personally I think this sub generates bad reputation because of its name. The real goal of this sub-reddit is to have gender equality, not men's rights. Men's Rights implies that men are always getting short-changed, which isn't the case. Men and Woman both have unfair disadvantages in different aspects of life, so it would make more sense for this sub-reddit to be named something like /r/genderequality or /r/equalgenderrights. Are you seriously suggesting that a rape victim should pay for an accidental false accusation? You seem to be forgetting that this girl was actually RAPED, not just falsely accusing a man to make money. In my opinion this is less of a men's rights issue and more of a social/law issue.

I disagree. These are still kids here, and I applaud the mother for trying to have the girl's parents punish the girls before taking it to court. The problem is that if the situation were reversed the boy would be charged in a heart beat with very severe charges. IMO The girls' parents should have the option to give a fair punishment before the girls are taken to court and even more light is shed on the poor boy.
