No, I don't see a double standard, because I think its rude and condescending in both situations. You only asked about white women in a dating context, and I gave my opinion as a white woman. Those sorts of pet names from a unknown guy come across as rude and disrespectful, which immediately makes the conversation uncomfortable. Why rude and disrespectful? Speaking as a white woman, it is an immediate red flag if anyone I don't know refers to me as "baby", "babe, "babygirl," or anything else along those lines. It comes across as condescending and disrespectful. You call them "unncessary boundaries", but to me they are very necessary to weed out the creeps and assholes. The boundaries are about establishing a basic level of respect for me as a person and not a potential notch on someone's bedpost.
